This is a full time position with varied shifts at Scripps Clinic Torrey Pines. Shifts are 8 hours, starting anytime between 7am and 11am on various days (Monday-Saturday). Must be flexible to float to other sites as needed.

Scripps ophthalmologists and optometrists provide comprehensive eye exams to diagnose and treat a full range of vision and eye problems, covering specialties such as Glaucoma, Retina, General Ophthalmology, Neuro Ophthalmology, Cornea, Oculoplastics and Optometry. Join a winning team supporting the Ophthalmology Department at Scripps Clinic Torrey Pines. The Ophthalmic Technician supports the division of Ophthalmology/Optometry with 20 providers. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast paced environment that sees approximately 200 patients a day.
The Ophthalmic Tech is responsible for:
·      Performing patient assessments and technical skills to accurately assess the ophthalmic status of each patient, including emergency procedures and medication administration as appropriate.
·      Educates patients and documents patient interactions.
·      Practices infection control
·      Contributes to the team as necessary to ensure quality patient care. Â
·      Additional responsibilities include: managing technician schedules, supply and medication ordering and inventory.
Required Qualifications:
- Current BLS card for Healthcare Professional from American Heart Association (AHA)
Preferred Qualification:
- One year experience in optometry and in ophthalmology
- Ophthalmic Technician Certificate preferred
- Completion of a certified Ophthalmic Technical program preferred
- Ability to scribe
- Epic experience
