Postion Summary:

 

This position is primarily responsible for assisting in surgical procedures, obtaining patient history, preliminary screening and work up, diagnostic testing, patient education, patient follow ups, and updating and inputting outcome analysis data.

 

 

 

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Possess excellent communication skills to gain trust and make patients comfortable through the consulting, surgical and pre/post-operative stages
  • Performs deft in auto refractions, topographical mapping, wavefront analysis, lensometer, pachymeter and visual acuities.
  • Evaluates and measures pupil size and responses, general use of a slit lamp microscope, applanation tonometer and proper instillation of eye drops.
  • Understands each procedure done at location and able to explain risks, benefits and alternatives.
  • Identifies commonly used eye drops, their strengths, purpose and usual dosage.
  • Knows general medical abbreviations and proper charting protocol.
  • Understands all equipment and instruments used in surgery including being certified on all lasers and other devices.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have experience in the LASIK/Ophthalmology field
  • 2-3 years experience preferred
  • High School Diploma Preferred
