The Morning Academics program is designed to help students maintain and strengthen core academic skills over the summer while building confidence, curiosity, and enthusiasm for learning in a supportive and engaging environment. Teachers are asked to review key concepts from students’ previous grade level while also previewing foundational skills and concepts from the upcoming grade. Instruction should include a balanced combination of reading, writing, and math through interactive, age-appropriate lessons and activities. The ideal candidate is an organized, warm, and flexible educator who can create a structured classroom environment while making summer learning engaging and enjoyable. Position Dates & Schedule Session 1: June 22–July 2 Optional Full Recreation Day: July 3 Session 2: July 6–17 Daily Schedule: 8:00 AM–12:30 PM Applicants may be considered for one or both sessions depending on program needs and availability. Key Responsibilities: Plan and teach daily Morning Academics lessons focused on reading, writing, and math Review essential skills and concepts from students’ previous grade level Introduce and preview foundational concepts for students’ incoming grade level Create engaging, hands-on, and developmentally appropriate learning activities Differentiate instruction to support a range of learners and abilities Foster a positive classroom culture that encourages participation, curiosity, and confidence  Maintain consistent classroom routines, expectations, and behavior management practices  Supervise students during transitions and designated program times  Collaborate with classroom counselors, support staff, and summer administrators  Maintain attendance and support daily program logistics  Communicate professionally and positively with families and staff Participate in summer orientation, meetings, and program preparation days  Follow all school safety and student supervision policies Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field preferred Prior teaching experience with elementary students preferred Strong understanding of grade-level academic standards and child development Ability to teach foundational reading, writing, and math skills in an engaging manner Strong classroom management and organizational skills Flexible, collaborative, and student-centered approach Enthusiasm for working in a summer enrichment environment Interested candidates should submit a resume, cover letter, and references.
