About the Role
Join a six-person engineering team building AI-native backend systems at the core of a healthtech platform that automates administrative clinical workflows — helping patients access care faster. This role sits at the intersection of agentic AI and critical healthcare infrastructure, making it high-impact from day one.
What You'll Do
Architect and deploy AI-native backend systems that process high-volume clinical data via API.
Build reliable, secure agentic infrastructure capable of handling clinical information at scale.
Integrate direct customer feedback to shape product iterations end-to-end.
Own critical backend infrastructure and drive its technical evolution.
Scale systems and architecture to support rapid customer onboarding and company growth.
What We're Looking For
Up to 1 year of professional backend software development experience, with production-grade delivery.
Strong proficiency in Python (required).
Proficiency in at least one systems programming language: C, C++, Rust, or Go.
Infrastructure-as-code experience using Terraform or a comparable tool (required).
Experience designing and implementing scalable backend systems or infrastructure.
Familiarity with distributed systems concepts such as consensus, replication, and fault tolerance.
Experience with database systems or data storage technologies.
Understanding of prompt engineering and working with LLMs in production contexts.
Active, meaningful GitHub contribution history demonstrating real-world coding output.
Experience with performance optimization and profiling.
Currently employed at an established company.
Passion for building impactful products in healthcare.
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) or containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary range: $120,000 – $250,000 USD annually. Visa sponsorship is available.
Location
On-site, five days per week in San Francisco, CA.
