BIC Data Operations Specialist

Position summary:Ā Under the supervision of the Director, BIC Operations & Projects, the BIC DataĀ Operations Specialist supports BIC’s growing need for repeatable data execution, reporting operations, and automation support outside core workflow platforms.Ā This role willĀ workĀ alongside the BIC Operations & Business Process Analyst.Ā They will operationalize analytics, reporting, and automation solutions designed by senior staff, allowing BIC to maintain speed, accuracy, andĀ self sufficiencyĀ while freeing advanced technical resources to focus on architecture, tooling, and future state initiatives (e.g., AI enablement, cloud migration, integrations).Ā SpecificĀ duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to,Ā the following:Ā 

Position responsibilities:Ā Ā 

Ā 

Reporting & Data Operations:Ā 

  • Run andĀ maintainĀ established reports, dashboards, queries, and extractsĀ 

  • Execute recurring data pulls for leadership, audits, compliance, and firmwide initiativesĀ 

  • Validate output accuracy and reconcile data discrepanciesĀ 

Ā 

Automation & Tool Execution:Ā 

  • Operate andĀ maintainĀ repeatable scripts, jobs, and API based processes built by senior staffĀ 

  • Execute batch jobs (e.g., report runs, data refreshes, operational maintenance tasks)Ā 

  • Monitor performance, log results, and escalate issues,Ā as neededĀ 

Ā 

Data Support for Firmwide Initiatives:Ā 

  • Support data requests related to AI tools, governance initiatives, cloud readiness, and analyticsĀ 

  • AssistĀ with documentation and reproducibility of data processesĀ 

  • Provide operational support during high volume or time sensitive initiativesĀ 

Ā 

Process Discipline & Reliability:Ā 

  • EnsureĀ data handlingĀ complies withĀ confidentiality, risk, and policy requirementsĀ 

  • Follow documented procedures andĀ assistĀ in improving operational resilienceĀ 

  • Maintain organized runbooks, trackers, and execution recordsĀ 

Growth & Skill Development:Ā 

  • Build familiarity with APIs, reporting platforms, data tools, and automation workflowsĀ 

  • Gain exposure to AI related data preparation and governance conceptsĀ 

  • Partner closely with senior technical staff to expand technical depth over timeĀ Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā 

  • All otherĀ duties as assigned orĀ requiredĀ

Skills and experience:Ā Ā 

Required:Ā 

  • After orientation at Cooley LLP, exhibitĀ proficiencyĀ inĀ theĀ MicrosoftĀ Office suite,Ā iManageĀ and otherĀ firm applicationsĀ 

  • Ability to work extended and/or weekend hours, asĀ requiredĀ 

  • Ability to travel, asĀ requiredĀ 

  • 3+Ā years ofĀ directly applicable experience (e.g.,Ā inĀ dataĀ operations, reporting, analytics, or business technology supportĀ role, or equivalent)Ā 

  • Strong analytical skills and comfort working with structured datasetsĀ 

  • Strong knowledgeĀ andĀ proficiencyĀ inĀ Python, SQLĀ 

  • Familiarity withĀ APIs, scripting,Ā orĀ automation tools, particularly asĀ relatesĀ to dashboards and analyticsĀ 

Preferred:Ā 

  • Bachelor’s degreeĀ 

  • Experience running reports or queries from enterprise platformsĀ 

  • Familiarity with Excel, reporting tools, or data visualization platformsĀ 

  • Interest in AI, automation, and internal toolingĀ 

  • Prior experience building tools/modelsĀ

The expected hourly pay range for this position with a work schedule of 40 hours per week is $39.50 - $58.00 ($82,160.00 - $120,640.00 annually). Please note that final offer amount will be dependent on geographic location, applicable experience and skillset of the candidate.
