The Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) is responsible for independently managing and coordinating clinical research studies within the UCSF Fein Memory and Aging Center. Under the direction of the Principal Investigator (PI) and Clinical Research Supervisor, the CRC oversees study operations from initiation through close-out, ensuring regulatory compliance, data integrity, and successful execution of research protocols. This role supports multiple concurrent studies and serves as a key liaison between investigators, research staff, participants, and institutional review bodies. The incumbent supports the management and coordination of single or multiple clinical research studies, depending on their size and complexity. Responsibilities include overseeing study operations, data collection, and specimen management; managing and reporting study results; creating, cleaning, updating, and maintaining databases and comprehensive datasets.

The CRC acts as an intermediary between services and departments and ensures all institutional approvals are obtained prior to study initiation. The role includes managing investigator protocols within the Committee on Human Research (CHR) online system, including renewals, modifications, and new study submissions. The CRC participates in protocol development and review to ensure Institutional Review Board (IRB) approval and compliance with University and regulatory agency requirements.

Additional responsibilities include maintaining regulatory documentation; overseeing study data integrity; implementing and maintaining periodic quality control procedures; reporting study progress to investigators; coordinating staff work schedules; assisting in training Assistant CRCs; supporting oversight of research staff; and participating in internal and external audits or reviews of study protocols. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
