  • We're looking for a Compensation Business Partner to join our People team, focusing on the Engineering, Product & Design organization.
  • This role requires proven experience in a compensation business partner or total rewards role, ideally with at least 5 years in a high-growth technology company.
  • The position offers a competitive total rewards package, including base salary, equity, and benefits, tailored to experience and market rates.
  • Candidates must be comfortable working in a hybrid model, with at least three days per week on-site in either San Francisco or New York.
  • The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills and experience with equity compensation, enabling them to advise senior leaders effectively.

About the Role

We're hiring a Compensation Business Partner to join our People team and work directly with leaders across our Engineering, Product & Design (EPD) organization. This is a high-visibility, high-impact role at a fast-scaling company operating at the frontier of AI and professional services technology.

You'll be the go-to expert and trusted advisor on all things compensation for one of the most talent-competitive markets in the industry. From structuring competitive offers that help land world-class candidates, to setting salary and equity ranges grounded in rigorous market data, you'll play a central role in how we attract, engage, and retain top technical talent.

This is a hybrid role based in our San Francisco or New York office, requiring at least three days per week on-site to stay closely embedded with EPD teams.

What You'll Do

  • Partner with Leaders: Serve as a trusted advisor to EPD executives and hiring managers, helping them make compensation decisions that balance market competitiveness, internal equity, and long-term business impact.

  • Guide Decisions: Provide clear, data-driven guidance on candidate offers, promotions, and pay adjustments.

  • Enable Recruiting: Collaborate with recruiters to build compelling, market-aligned offers. Develop training, tools, and coaching so recruiters and hiring managers can confidently discuss compensation and equity with candidates.

  • Drive Market Insights: Analyze compensation data from external surveys and benchmarks to set and continually refine salary bands and equity ranges.

  • Simplify Complexity: Translate compensation philosophy and program details into clear, accessible guidance for stakeholders at all levels.

  • Scale Programs: Help build and evolve compensation infrastructure as the company grows rapidly across geographies and functions.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience in a compensation business partner or total rewards role, ideally supporting technical/engineering functions at a high-growth technology company.

  • Strong analytical skills — comfortable pulling, modeling, and interpreting compensation data to make and communicate recommendations.

  • Deep familiarity with equity compensation (stock options, RSUs) and how to explain equity value to candidates and employees.

  • Experience with compensation benchmarking tools and survey data (e.g., Radford/Aon, Mercer, Levels.fyi, Carta).

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills — able to advise senior leaders with confidence and influence without authority.

  • Ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment.

  • Strong communicator who can simplify complex topics into clear, actionable guidance.

  • Experience working closely with recruiting teams on offer design and candidate communication.

Nice to have:

  • Prior experience at an AI, developer tools, or enterprise SaaS company.

  • Exposure to global compensation across multiple geographies.

  • Background building or redesigning compensation frameworks from early stages.

Location

This role is based in San Francisco, CA or New York, NY. Candidates must be willing to work from the office at least three days per week. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
