What is the position? 

SFAF’s Health Services for People Who Use Drugs (PWUD) is one of largest PWUD health engagement and safer supply access programs in the State of California. The Contingency Management and Treatment Connections Coordinator supports this by providing day-to-day operations for our contingency management and 4 week MOUD stabilization programs. This position is grounded in a proactive counseling approach that utilizes motivational interviewing to connect individuals to care. Programming includes treatment connections, syringe access & safe disposal services, providing overdose prevention, recognition and response training with naloxone distribution. 

What are the main responsibilities?  

  • Coordinate day-to-day Contingency Management and MOUD support,  program operations, delivery of interventions, client relations, recruitment, outreach, and retention. 
  • Provide group facilitation three evenings per week, manage specimen collection; weekly check ins with clients, program recruitment and other tasks. 
  • Document and enter all program data according to program protocols in an accurate and timely manner 
  • Engage and link people to internal and external substance use and medical care services, MOUD with buprenorphine, methadone and other in-patient or outpatient programs 
  • Provide on-site treatment connections including referral and linkage to substance use disorder treatment, medical care, HIV, HCV and STI testing, vaccinations and other health and social services at 6th St Center, mobile sites, and street outreach. 
  • Coordinate administrative operations for Contingency Management Program.  Includes group charting, documentation, data reporting, management and tracking of incentives and group materials.  

 
Who are we looking for?  

  • Bi-lingual in Spanish and English required 
  • Knowledge of health, substance use treatment and social services throughout the city of San Francisco. 
  • Ability and willingness to handle biological specimens (urine) and follow all testing and safety protocols 
  • Group facilitation experience and ability to implement de-escalation techniques, follow safety protocols, and use sound judgment in making independent decisions.   
  • Experience using motivational interviewing and strong understanding of client centered practices and principles, experience doing care navigation preferred. 
  • Understanding of overdose prevention recognition and response, HIV/HCV disease prevention and treatment required. 
  • Minimum three years' experience working with people who use drugs, highly marginalized people, or people experiencing homelessness required. 
  • Proof of valid California driver’s license with an excellent driving record and driver’s insurance preferred   

 
Where is the position located? 

This position is primarily located at 117 6th, Mobile Sites, and 940 Howard Street. San Francisco, however it may occasionally require traveling to other office locations or off-site meetings as required by the job. Role may include evening and weekend coverage. 

 
What we offer? 

Hourly Rate:$35 - $37 per hour 

Benefits :SFAF is proud to offer a comprehensive and competitive benefits package for our full-time employees. We offer combined PTO/Sick Time Off of 27+ days for the first two years of employment, 32+ days after two years of employment. For retirement we offer a 403(b) Plan and SFAF matches employee contributes (1 to 1) up to 3% of Salary.
