Job Summary:
This position provides strategic leadership for employee wellness, mental health, and wraparound support services, including clinical and non-clinical resources, with a focus on improving access, navigation, and utilization across UCSF, the University of California system, and community-based services.
Provides integrated employee well-being support by addressing health care access, mental health services, and basic needs through a coordinated model that includes the Faculty & Staff Assistance Program (FSAP), COPE (Coping and Resiliency Program), Health Care Facilitator services, and wellness initiatives.
Ensures seamless access to clinical and non-clinical services, reduces barriers to care, and enhances employee experience through a community navigation model.
Leads the transformation, development, and enhancement of the current Wellness Champion network to establish an employee peer support model to increase resource awareness, engagement, and department-based activities to maximize employee Wellness and support. Aligns efforts with workforce development initiatives.
Partners across HR, UCSF Health, and external providers to align services, improve utilization, and support workforce outcomes.

Health Care Access
- Advocates on behalf of employees and family members with insurance plans and providers to address coverage, billing, and authorization issuesÂ
- Partners with UCSF Health to promote access to care and resolve barriersÂ
- Provides consultation to employees regarding health plan selection and provider accessÂ
Services are provided to all employees, retirees, trainees, and their family membersÂ

Mental Health Access (FSAP & COPE)
- Oversees Faculty & Staff Assistance Program (FSAP), including clinical services and vendor managementÂ
- Ensures timely access to mental health care through internal and external providersÂ
- Integrates FSAP with COPE to provide coordinated clinical and navigation services and improve timely access to support and mental health servicesÂ
- Expands digital and self-service access to resourcesÂ
- Provides navigation support for accessing careÂ
- Services are provided to all employees, trainees, and their family membersÂ

Basic Needs Support
- Develops partnerships with workforce development programs to provide proactive supportÂ
- Provides initial consultations to assess and address employee needsÂ
- Expands access to community-based wraparound services (housing, childcare, food, financial support)Â
- Develops integrated models for self-service and navigator-supported accessÂ

Communications & Resource Marketing
- Leads enterprise-wide efforts to promote FSAP, COPE, and wellness resourcesÂ
- Develops targeted strategies to increase awareness, reduce stigma, and improve utilizationÂ
- Partners with Communications to ensure consistent, accessible messagingÂ

Manager & Leader Enablement
- Provides tools and consultation to help managers support employee well-being and mental healthÂ
- Partners with leadership development initiatives to build manager capabilityÂ
- Collaborates with Employee Relations on complex employee situationsÂ
