Stratford School's DeMontfort Campus is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic 2nd Grade Teacher for a short-term teaching assignment from August 3, 2026, through November 6, 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for an educator who enjoys working with elementary-aged students and wants to make an immediate impact in a supportive, high-achieving school community.
Beyond the assignment, successful teachers may be considered for future open positions across the campus as opportunities become available.
About the Role
At Stratford School, our elementary classrooms are built around curiosity, academic excellence, and strong relationships. We are looking for a teacher who can step into a 2nd-grade classroom and create a positive, engaging learning environment where students feel supported, challenged, and excited to learn every day.
As a Short-Term 2nd Grade Teacher, you will work closely with colleagues, school leadership, and families to ensure a successful and seamless learning experience for students throughout the fall semester.
In This Role, You Will

Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the Stratford curriculum

Create a structured, nurturing classroom environment that promotes student growth and independence

Monitor student progress and provide timely communication to families

Collaborate with grade-level teammates and school leadership to support student success

Participate in school events, team meetings, and professional development opportunities

Foster a classroom culture that reflects Stratford's commitment to academic excellence and character development
What We're Looking For

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university

Previous experience teaching in an elementary classroom, preferably at the primary grade level

Strong communication, organization, and relationship-building skills

A warm, dependable, and student-centered approach to teaching

Ability to quickly build rapport with students, families, and colleagues
