Position Summary:
As a prep cook, you will prepare food for our events, including cutting, chopping, peeling, etc. and plating food for buffet presentation. You will also assist with processing deliveries and will maintain safe and sanitary work stations at all times. You will also work with the team to ensure safety and sanitation standards are met throughout the galley. This is an excellent opportunity to learn basic cooking skills and progress into other positions.
Duties and Responsibilities:Ā
Ā· Assist in stocking products from deliveries, maintaining proper rotation and storage.
Ā· Follow food production guidelines, preparing food in the allotted time frame.
Ā· Maintain safe and sanitary food standards.
Ā· Label, date and initial all prepared and stored food products.
Ā· Monitor all work areas consistently throughout shift.
Ā· Clean and organize food and pan storage daily.
Ā· Report any tools / equipment in need of repair or replacement.
Ā· Additional job duties assigned .

Requirements & Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:
Ā· 1 to 2 years kitchen prep experience.
Ā· Knowledge of health sanitation codes.
Ā· California Food Handlers certificate.
Ā· Able to obtain TWIC and MMC certification.
Ā· Must be able to understand and communicate with English speaking crew.
Grooming:
Ā· All crew members must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance (specific standards available in the Employee Handbook).
Physical Demands:
Ā· Ability to bend, rotate and reach frequently.
Ā· Ascending/descending stairs or ladders safely.
Ā· Ability to maneuver through/in/around small and/or confined areas within the vessel.
Ā· Must be able to maintain both static and dynamic standing balance to complete various duties associated with job.
