Founding Full Stack Engineer

About the Role

This is a founding engineering role at an AI-powered health and wellness ecommerce startup, where you will own the entire technical surface: from a membership web app launch to a consumer mobile app and the LLM-powered agents that run internal operations. The role is intentionally broad and offers maximum ownership for an engineer who has already shipped products to real customers.

What You'll Do

• Build and maintain a membership web application on an existing Shopify and Recharge stack, targeting a near-term launch milestone.

• Monitor and optimize storefront page speed, app performance, and third-party script and pixel behavior.

• Keep tracking and consent tooling properly configured and compliant with privacy regulations such as CPRA.

• Own engineering architecture, stack choices, security, vendor and contractor decisions, and the databases behind the membership platform.

• Lead development of a React Native consumer app (iOS first) once the membership MVP is live.

• Build LLM-powered agents and internal tools designed to run unattended in production, with evals, monitoring, and human-in-the-loop checkpoints where needed.

• Use AI, automation, and low-code tools to reduce manual work and accelerate execution across all business functions.

• Partner closely with the CEO on high-priority, ad-hoc problems, moving fluidly between product and infrastructure decisions.

What We're Looking For

• Demonstrated track record of shipping a consumer-facing product in production to real users.

• Strong proficiency in TypeScript and React.

• Proficiency in Python or Node.js, with a history of shipping fast and reliable code.

• Hands-on experience with Shopify and Recharge.

• Experience building consumer-facing React Native apps, with an iOS-first mindset.

• Experience shipping web apps with strong performance optimization.

• Familiarity with AI-powered tools, LLM integrations, and automation workflows.

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or mathematics, or equivalent demonstrated experience through shipped work.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary: $130,000 to $160,000 USD annually.
