About the Role
This is the first sales hire at an early-stage AI startup serving equipment dealers and rental companies across North America. You'll own the entire revenue cycle — from cold outbound to close — and help build a repeatable go-to-market motion from the ground up alongside the founding team.
What You'll Do
Drive demand generation (~60% of your time) via cold calls, LinkedIn, email, events, and trade shows, targeting equipment dealers and rental companies across North America.
Run the full sales cycle independently: first call, discovery, demo, negotiation, and close.
Travel 1–2 times per month to meet customers, attend trade shows, and build relationships in the field.
Partner with the founder to design and document a repeatable sales process from scratch.
Feed market and customer insights back to the founding team to sharpen positioning and product direction.
What We're Looking For
2–3 years of B2B sales experience (BDR/SDR or early AE), ideally at a seed or Series A-stage startup with no established playbook.
Proven track record selling to non-tech SMB or mid-market buyers — restaurants, home services, dental, manufacturing, equipment dealers, or similar verticals; not solely enterprise SaaS or large tech-brand environments.
Demonstrable high-volume outbound metrics: daily call volumes, meetings booked per week, and pipeline generated from zero.
Ability to run a full demo-to-close cycle independently without SDR support or structured onboarding.
Proficiency with CRM and sales enablement tools such as HubSpot, Salesforce, and LinkedIn Sales Navigator.
High agency and self-starting mindset — comfortable figuring things out without managerial direction.
Availability for regular travel (1–2x/month) to customer sites and industry events.
Based in or willing to relocate to the San Francisco, CA area; role requires in-office presence.
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary: $80,000–$100,000 USD annually. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
Location
Hybrid — San Francisco, CA. Frequent travel to customer sites and trade shows (~1–2 times per month). In-office presence required, particularly during the initial ramp period.
