Founding Product Engineer

About the Role

This is a founding-level engineering role at an early-stage AI consumer startup building an ambient intelligence product that spans phone, watch, and desktop. You'll own the full product surface — from UX and UI through to the underlying AI agent and speech recognition pipeline — working directly alongside the Head of Product to ship fast and iterate on real user feedback.

What You'll Do

• Own features end-to-end across mobile, wearable, desktop, and the agent/ASR pipeline beneath them.

• Translate lightweight briefs and Slack threads into shipped product with minimal specification.

• Make independent trade-offs across UX, UI, backend, and AI/ML based on what each feature actually needs.

• Drive improvements to ASR latency and accuracy, wearable reliability, cross-platform detection, and agent responsiveness.

• Take features from design through ship through iteration, closing the loop on user feedback without waiting for direction.

• Partner closely with Product and Design to prioritize and execute the roadmap.

What We're Looking For

• 2+ years of full-time experience shipping consumer features end-to-end across mobile, desktop, wearable, or backend platforms.

• Genuine capability across at least two of: mobile, desktop, wearable, and backend — with shipped work to show for it.

• Founding or early-stage startup engineering experience (pre-Series B or equivalent scale).

• Full-stack product development ability — comfortable making UX, UI, backend, and AI/ML trade-offs independently.

• Experience building real-time or streaming systems requiring low-latency or continuous data pipelines.

• Strong product sense: knows what's worth building and can execute without detailed specs.

• Nice to have: iOS/watchOS or wearable development; speech, audio, or ASR ML pipeline experience; AI-native or LLM-powered consumer app work; agent/agentic workflow implementation; hardware-adjacent startup background.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $200,000 USD annually. Visa sponsorship is not available.
