About the Team

Droyd builds autonomous robotic systems that automate repetitive manual work in real environments. We design and manufacture our hardware in-house, which means iteration, fabrication, and execution all happen under one roof.

Our robots need software interfaces that are clear, efficient, and practical for real use. Our product and software efforts span teleoperation, internal tools, customer demos, and company-facing materials — front-end engineering plays a central role across all of it.

About the Role

As a Front-End Engineer (WebXR / VR) at Droyd, you will build the immersive and web-based interfaces our operators and customers use to control and monitor robots. You will own front-end systems for teleoperation, including WebXR / VR experiences that let operators see through and command our robots in real time.

You will work closely with designers and robotics engineers to turn rough ideas into production-grade interfaces.

This role is based on-site in San Francisco, CA.

In This Role, You'll

Front-End & WebXR / VR Development

  • Build and own web and WebXR / VR interfaces for teleoperation and operator workflows

  • Develop real-time, low-latency UIs that stream robot data and video

  • Improve usability and performance across internal and external product surfaces

Design-to-Production

  • Work closely with designers to bring concepts into production

  • Iterate quickly based on operator and team feedback

Collaboration

  • Partner with robotics and backend engineers to integrate front-end systems with the control stack

  • Help maintain a consistent, high-quality interface across products

Work Environment & Schedule

  • On-site in San Francisco, CA

  • Full-time

Compensation: $130K–$175K base salary, plus equity

We're Looking For Candidates Who

  • Have strong front-end engineering skills (JavaScript / TypeScript, modern frameworks)

  • Have experience building WebXR, VR, WebGL, or other real-time / 3D web interfaces

  • Have experience designing practical, user-centered workflows

  • Can collaborate closely with designers and engineers in a fast-paced environment

Nice to have:

  • Experience with VR or teleoperation interfaces

  • Experience in robotics, industrial, or highly technical products

  • Familiarity with real-time video / data streaming (WebRTC)
