About the RoleÂ
You will be a key member of the Pottery Barn Kids Furniture Design team, responsible for the design, development, and delivery of new furniture collections. Our team is committed to creating beautiful, safe and innovative furniture. Head Design Manager oversees all furniture categories—including Bedroom, Nursery, Playroom/Occasional, and Nursery Seating—and manages the designers dedicated to each area. You will work collaboratively across design, engineering, sourcing and merchandising teams to bring compelling and commercially successful designs to life.

ResponsibilitiesÂ
Demonstrate a clear design point of view, driving innovation and creativity each season
Identify key design trends and analyze the market to bring new aesthetics and functions to the team
Create new design concepts with ideation, mood boards, sketching, 3D modeling and complete specs
Has clear understanding of business needs and guides PD team to design accordingly
Strong knowledge of furniture engineering, construction, materials and pricing
Main communicator between global offices, vendors, merchants and sourcing
Ability to manage, mentor, and develop direct reports
Drives calendar to ensure all deadlines and key dates are met
Determine workload; recommend effective processes and procedures to improve workflow and results

CriteriaÂ
Minimum 7 years furniture design experience
Minimum 3 years of management experience
Degree in Design or equivalent experience
Must have an aspirational taste-level with an eye for interiors and designer aesthetic Â
Experience designing product with pricing and construction in mind
Must be technically versed in bedroom and upholstery product categories and wood finishes
- Full proficiency in Mac operating systems with skill excellence in Illustrator, Photoshop, CAD, and 3D rendering programs
- This role requires being onsite in the San Francisco offices

The expected starting pay range for this position is $112,100- $133,150. Applicable pay ranges may differ across markets. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. In addition to competitive pay, compensation may include a variety of other components like benefits, paid time off, merit, and bonus opportunities. Â
