Who are we?  

San Francisco AIDS Foundation (SFAF) envisions a future where health justice is achieved for all people living with or at risk for HIV. What is the position? 

The SFAF Pharmacy staff operates in close collaboration with SFAF’s clinical team located at Strut, providing same-day access to new medications and refills in addition to medication delivery options. On-site pharmacists can prescribe and dispense all forms of PrEP, which expands the capacity of the PrEP program at Strut.  The Pharmacist is a vital patient care position in our HIV and Sexual Health services. Reporting to the Pharmacist in Charge this role will provide clinically appropriate and effective care to our clients while minimizing barriers to access. This position will provide coverage as needed including coverage for PTO, vacations, etc.  

What are the main responsibilities?  

  • Oversee medication dispensing and accurate fulfillment of prescriptions.  
  • Provide medication counseling on PrEP, nPEP, DoxyPEP, and all prescriptions dispensed by the pharmacy.  
  • Engage clients in understanding and being an active partner in their medication therapy.  
  • Collaborate with health and care teams to optimize adherence and wellness.  
  • Comply with CA board of Pharmacy and all regulatory agency standards.  

 
Who are we looking for?  

  • Able to work with a diverse population and provide culturally competent customer service. 
  • Able to complete tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervision.  
  • Sensitivity to issues concerning HIV and all disabilities.  
  • BS Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy Degree 
  • Unrestricted CA Pharmacist license 
  • Retail or Specialty Pharmacy Experience 

 
Where is the position located? 

This position is primarily located at 470 Castro St, San Francisco, however it may occasionally require traveling to other office locations or off-site meetings as required by the job. Role may include evening and weekend coverage. 

 
What we offer? 

Hourly Rate : $65 - $70 

Benefits : Per Diem employees do not qualify to receive benefits from SFAF.
