Sutter West Bay Medical Group has an opportunity for a Cardiologist specializing in Interventional Echocardiography and Structural Heart Imaging to join a premier, innovative, and growing cardiovascular program at the Van Ness Campus / California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco.

This position offers the opportunity to join a nationally recognized structural heart program within a highly integrated, academically oriented cardiovascular service line. The physician will work closely with interventional cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, advanced imagers, anesthesiology, advanced heart failure and transplant specialists, and multidisciplinary valve and structural heart teams.

This role is specifically focused on interventional echocardiography, providing advanced echocardiographic imaging and intraprocedural guidance for complex structural heart interventions.

Opportunity details:
- Provide advanced interventional echocardiography support for a high-complexity structural heart program, including procedural planning, intraprocedural imaging guidance, and longitudinal follow-up
- Provide imaging guidance for structural heart procedures including transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), mitral and tricuspid valve interventions, left atrial appendage closure, paravalvular leak closure, and ASD/PFO closure
- Support emerging transcatheter structural heart therapies and clinical trial participation
- Perform and interpret advanced cardiac imaging, including transthoracic echocardiography, transesophageal echocardiography (TEE), and 3D echocardiography
- Collaborate closely with Structural Heart, Interventional Cardiology, Advanced Cardiovascular Imaging, Cardiac Surgery, Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant, Electrophysiology, and the Comprehensive Aortic Disease Program
- Participate in multidisciplinary case and valve conferences, procedural planning, quality improvement, and program development
- Join a comprehensive multimodality cardiovascular imaging program, with opportunities to contribute to the development of an advanced imaging fellowship
- Opportunity to participate in research and clinical trials, including emerging and investigational structural heart therapies
- Teaching, research, innovation, program development, and leadership opportunities
- Physician-led, collegial & collaborative, multidisciplinary culture
- No general cardiology call
Qualifications
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiovascular Disease
- Advanced training and demonstrated expertise in structural heart imaging and interventional echocardiography
- Strong experience with TEE, 3D echocardiography, and intraprocedural imaging guidance for structural heart procedures
- For earlier-career candidates, advanced cardiac imaging fellowship training with a strong emphasis in echocardiography is preferred
- Experience with multimodality cardiovascular imaging preferred
- Experience with clinical research and investigational structural heart devices is highly desirable
- Interest in program development, quality improvement, teaching, research, and collaborative multidisciplinary care
- Commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care
- Eligible for licensure in California
