Our client, a mission-driven, AI-native fintech company empowering businesses with integrated corporate cards, banking, and spend management software, has exclusively retained Solutus Legal Search to assist the Company in its search for a Product and Regulatory Counsel.

 

Reporting to the Associate General Counsel Product & Regulatory, this attorney will help the company grow, globally scale, and continuously improve its commercial card product, banking offerings, and adjacent payments product offerings. They will be a subject matter expert on card and financial regulations, providing strategic advice on risk and regulatory ambiguity. They will collaborate directly with stakeholders (including product, engineering, marketing, sales, and partnerships) to find creative solutions to business issues. They will know how to break a project down into first principles and see it from ideation to launch. They will understand when to figure out a solution in-house and when to strategically and cost-effectively deploy outside counsel.

 

Strong candidates will have 4+ years of experience practicing in a combination of law firms and fintech companies, interacting with commercial bank partners, financial regulators, and card networks. They will have strong familiarity with federal, state, and international laws and regulations that can apply to fintech companies, such as UDAP, anti-money laundering law, CARD Act, ACH rules, and money transmission regulations. Experience with stable coins and/or broker-dealer legal issues are a plus.

 

They will have an ownership mentality and comfort working on complex matters that require sound judgment. They also will have an entrepreneurial mindset and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. They will be a team player who eagerly volunteers to help their colleagues.

Compensation is targeted at an annual base salary of $240,000 to $270,000, plus a multiyear cash bonus structure in lieu of equity, and generous benefits. The total compensation package will vary and depend on the candidate’s level of seniority, number of years of directly relevant experience, and geographic location.
