Responsibilities
- Design digital user interfaces, create graphics, and design new experiences or layouts that evolve and/or define visual systems for web-based applications and technologies with a focus on aesthetics and design.
- Take broad, conceptual ideas and create design flows and experiences that are incredibly simple and elegant for supported platforms.
- Partner with product managers, engineers, UX researchers and content strategists to iterate and oversee user experience of a product from conception to launch.
- Give and solicit feedback from other designers in order to continually raise our bar for quality.
- Work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires review of a variety of factors.
- Partnering closely with engineering teams to ensure design feasibility and to integrate technical constraints into design solutions, leveraging a strong foundation in computer science to communicate effectively and bridge the gap between design intent and technical implementation.
- Leading the iterative design process by rapidly prototyping and testing design solutions, and incorporating feedback from user testing, stakeholder reviews, and market analysis into design iterations.
- Contributing to the creation and maintenance of design systems and component libraries, utilizing a deep understanding of software architecture and programming principles to ensure consistency, scalability, and efficiency across the product ecosystem.
- Analyzing user interaction data and technical performance metrics to optimize designs for user sentiment and business goals, applying a data-driven approach.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires a Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Analytics, Mathematics, Physics, Applied Sciences, or a related field
- Requires completion of a university-level course, research project, internship, or thesis in the following:
- Building and shipping applications or software at the level of whole features or products across a variety of platforms
- Interaction design, including defining how an experience should behave based on understanding people's needs
- Prototyping
- Visual design, including typography, desktop or mobile user interface, color, layout, and iconography
- Understanding product goals, identifying opportunities, and making decisions based on the impact to internal and external users
- Creating user flow and mockups to articulate design concepts
- Defining product specifications and user experiences
- Understanding and interpreting user research and usability testing
