About Revel

At Revel, we are revolutionizing the way the world's most critical hardware is controlled — across aerospace, automotive, energy, robotics, defense, and advanced manufacturing sectors. Our next-generation software stack combines an intuitive command/control interface, a specialized programming language tailored for hardware control, and a high-performance runtime environment. We empower engineers to build, test, and deploy critical systems rapidly, reliably, and safely.

Our simulation tooling is a core part of that story — enabling engineers to model, validate, and understand the behavior of complex systems before they ever touch real hardware.

Role Overview

We are hiring a Product Manager to define and own our hardware integration product — the areas of the platform that enable test engineers to configure, integrate, and manage their hardware systems and device channels (sensors, DAQ inputs/outputs, signal types, scaling) for data acquisition and testing.

This is a technical product for technical operators. The people using this product are test engineers configuring real hardware for real experiments, not consumers — and empathizing with their workflows without an engineering or test background is close to impossible. We need someone who has either done this work themselves or built software for people who do.

What You'll Do

  • Define the product vision and roadmap for hardware configuration and management, including addressing systems of increasing complexity as Revel breaks into new industries

  • Conduct deep discovery with test engineers and technical operators to understand how they configure channels today, where the friction is, and what a genuinely fast workflow looks like.

  • Benchmark rigorously against best-in-class tools, and be explicit about where we need to match, and where we can be meaningfully better.

  • Partner closely with design and engineering to build a user experience that respects expert users rather than a simplified consumer-style interface that slows them down.

  • Translate discovery and benchmarking into clearly scoped requirements.

  • Own roadmap planning and sequencing, and communicate priorities and tradeoffs clearly to engineering, design, and leadership.

  • Serve as the internal bridge between hardware config and the rest of the platform, ensuring it integrates cleanly rather than existing as a bolted-on tool.

  • Work cross-functionally with marketing to support launches.

  • Advocate clearly for what the product needs, including when that means pushing back on scope pressure before the fundamentals are solid.

Must-Have Experience

  • 5+ years of product management experience, or direct experience as a test engineer or software engineer building tools for test/measurement workflows.

  • Demonstrated ability to define a product from a blank slate — building a first roadmap and requirements set, not just refining an existing one.

  • Proven ability to conduct rigorous, high-fidelity customer discovery with technical users, and to translate their workflows into scoped product requirements.

  • A strong point of view on UX for expert tools.

  • Strong cross-functional instincts and comfort working across engineering, design, and marketing.

  • Mission-driven mindset with strong ownership over outcomes.

Nice to have

  • Firsthand familiarity with hardware test and data acquisition workflows: sensors, DAQ hardware, channel configuration, signal scaling, or equivalent instrumentation work.

  • Direct experience as a test engineer working with DAQ or instrumentation hardware (NI, Keysight, Vector, or similar).

  • Hands-on familiarity with FlexLogger, LabVIEW, TestStand, DIAdem, or comparable test/measurement software — as a user, not just an observer.

  • Background in physics, mechanical engineering, or electrical engineering.

  • Experience building tools for engineers or scientists in aerospace, defense, robotics, advanced manufacturing, energy, or automotive.

  • Experience operating in a fast-paced hardware testing environment.

  • Experience collaborating closely with a marketing function on a major product launch.

Team & Exposure

You will work alongside the engineering team building this product and collaborate closely with the platform's design and front-end engineering teams. You will have direct exposure to the Head of Product and CEO, and will work hands-on with the technical operators who will actually use what you build. Our feedback loops are tight — you will see directly how your product decisions land with real users doing real, high-stakes work.
