Job Summary
AlfaTech is seeking an energetic, detail-oriented team players with excellent communication skills to join our dynamic Project Management (PM) team as a Project Controls Manager (PCM). As a PCM you are a critical member of the team, providing financial support to project managers to ensure project-specific financial goals are met at the highest levels, as well as program level Project Controls leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program-level project controls strategy and execution.
- Measures and reports on execution progress; flags when actual performance deviates from plan
- Reports on resource loading and utilization; identifies resource constraints that impact schedule
- Models scenarios and quantifies impact of potential corrective actions. PM and leadership decide which actions to take
- Provides objective data to support PM's client discussions; presents performance reports when requested.
- Training and Mentoring: Provide training and mentoring to PMs and key discipline level contributors on financial management of projects. Earned Value Management methodologies and execution.
- Management and leadership of a project controls team as needed and appropriate.

Core Responsibilities
- Assist Project Manager (PM) in preparing resource plans for proposals and Additional Service Requests (ASRs)/Change Orders (COs).
- Collaborate with Project Managers and AT Accounting Team in terms of establishing and maintaining project budget, billing, project schedule, and progress analysis; recommend actions to improve developments; assist with preparing modifications to original contract (ASRs, COs); track ASRs, COs; track project costs versus plans, assemble monthly cost/schedule status reports, prepare and revise startup forms at PM’s direction, review monthly billing reports for incorrect time booking.
- Collaborate and coordinate with AT Accounting Team, assist with review of consultant invoices and maintain project financial reports updated for Project Manager’s and AT Leadership review.
- Collaborate with project managers and accounting to ensure timely payment of subconsultants, accurate allocation of their costs to the appropriate projects, and effective oversight of the related financial processes.
- Obtain and assemble the revenue projections and accruals for all the billable codes including subconsultants and distribute to the respective parties as monthly reporting requirements analysis.
- Assist Project Team and Project Manager in daily project-specific financial tasks.
- Track work in progress (WIP), percent complete, backlog, and project profitability.
- Maintain project costs spent against budget and provide financial documentation to Project Managers, analyze project cost, including 85% spent notification tracking and preparation, provide Estimate to Complete Analysis. Execute project plan rebaselining as required.
- Maintain and distribute project reports to Project Team members.
- Conduct regular follow-up with Client on status of ASRs in review.
- Provide training and mentoring to PMs and key discipline level contributors on Earned Value Management methodologies and execution.
- Assist with roll out of AT financial change initiatives and related training and tool development.
- Manage Project Controller direct reports as needed.

Ideal Candidate
- Must have a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
- Must have minimum of 10 years of experience in Project Controls
- Must have minimum of 5 years in a program-wide or firm-wide related leadership role.
- Proficiency in MS Project and Deltek Vantagepoint.
- Familiarity with KPI Dashboards.
- Familiarity with the design and construction industry.

- Excellent analytical, problem solving, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with Project Management methodologies and tools.
- Proficiency in financial analysis and forecasting, project financial controls and financial tracking software.
- High level of organization and time management.
- Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in MS Word and PowerPoint.
- Advanced MS Excel skills.
Salary Range
This is a hybrid role. It is anticipated that the working days in the office will be done at our San Francisco, CA office. The expected salary range for candidates who will work in San Francisco, CA is $135,000 - $165,000. The final offer to our new team member will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the length, breadth, and depth of experience within the job and the industry, education, etc. ATCE is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states.
