The role of the Safety and Training Manager is to ensure AGI employees are informed, prepared, and ready to execute safe operations in a 24/7 environment.Ā 

Ideal Candidates should have at least one year of experience in managing safety and training operations.Ā

Job Responsibilities:Ā 

  • Oversee all Safety & Training Officers at the stationĀ 

  • Ensure training is performed consistently and is conducive to learning

  • Perform ad hoc station training as neededĀ 

  • Serve as liaison with insurance company on both pre- and post-loss control in absence of Regional Safety OfficerĀ Ā 

  • Maintain information on all injury and liability claims and investigate as necessaryĀ 

  • Perform statistical reporting and trend analysis at station levelĀ 

  • Perform internal safety audits at stationĀ 

  • Develop recommendations for policies and procedure manualsĀ 

  • Ensure station compliance with established company safety policies and procedures and ensure OSHA complianceĀ 

Safety, Security and Compliance:Ā 

All AGI Team members have a responsibility and duty while at work to:Ā 

  • Take reasonable care for the health, wellbeing, safety, and security of themselves and of others who may be affected by their actions or omissions while at work.Ā 

  • Cooperate with their manager / supervisor to allow them to perform orĀ comply withĀ any legal requirements imposed on the company.Ā 

  • Not intentionally or recklessly interfere with or misuse anything provided by the company in the interests of health, wellbeing, safety, security,Ā or welfare reasons.Ā 

  • Inform their manager / supervisor of any work situation, equipment, or activity thatĀ representsĀ a serious or immediate danger to health, wellbeing, safety, and security.Ā 

  • Report any hazards, near misses, incidents, accidents, or dangerous occurrences to their manager / supervisor, who will then follow the procedures contained in company and carrier Safety and Security procedures.  

  • Carry out workĀ in accordance withĀ information and training provided and any specific health, wellbeing, safety, and security rules or procedures.Ā 

  • Fully understand AGI Health & Safety and Security policies.  

  • Attend training courses as may be required by AGI.Ā 

Physical Requirements:Ā 

  • Lift up to 70 pounds (32 kg) in confined spacesĀ 

  • Stand, lift, bend, push and pull on a frequent basis and for extended periodsĀ 

  • Work outside in all types of weather, around jet and machinery noisesĀ 

  • Airlines are 24/7, so we need our team members to be flexible to work various shifts including nights,Ā weekendsĀ and holidays.Ā 

Qualifications:Ā 

  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, asĀ demonstratedĀ in training presentations, writtenĀ manualsĀ and accident investigationsĀ 

  • Display math aptitude and analytical skillsĀ 

  • Be at least 18 years of age andĀ possessĀ a high school diploma,Ā GEDĀ or work experience equivalentĀ 

  • Demonstrate knowledge of applicable FAA regulations, including standard security programs and OSHA regulationsĀ 

  • Be able to obtain a valid passportĀ 

  • Be able to pass a drug screen and obtain airport security clearance, which includes a 10-year extensive employment, criminalĀ recordĀ and residence background checkĀ 

  • If work location is in the United States, must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986. If work location is in Canada, must have authorization to work in Canada as defined by the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) of 2001.Ā
