Taste is building the AI for creative work.
Today’s AI is great at logic and code, but when it comes to anything visual, brand, or aesthetic, it produces slop. Generic fonts, cluttered layouts, off-brand colors, soulless compositions. The models don’t understand taste.
We’re changing that. We’re building the creativity layer for AI: the models, evaluators, and data pipelines that teach AI what “great” actually looks like, so that every company building with AI can ship work that feels crafted, on-brand, and beautiful.
We recently closed a $16M seed round co-led by Amplify and CRV. We’re working with customers like Anthropic, Flint, and leading AI labs, powering the design intelligence behind their products. The team today is small, senior, and hungry. We care deeply about quality, move fast, and love the problem.
If you think AI-generated work feels soulless right now, and you want to be part of the team fixing that, we’d love to meet you.
We’re hiring a Senior Designer to partner directly with Thais and Maria (founding designer) on the core product and brand of Taste. You’ll help shape what an “AI company with actual taste” looks and feels like — across product, brand, marketing, and everything in between.
This is a generalist-spiked senior role. We need someone who can go deep on product design and pull up to own a brand moment when it matters. Mixed experience between Product Design and Brand is a big plus; pure enterprise Product Design or pure Brand-only is less interesting for this seat.
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
Core product design for our web app and creative AI tooling
Brand surfaces: website, launch assets, marketing, social presence
Design system partnership with our Design Engineer
Prototyping new product directions alongside Thais and the team
Helping set the bar for visual quality across everything Taste ships
YOU MIGHT BE A FIT IF
6+ years designing at consumer or creative-forward companies
A portfolio that mixes strong product work and some flair — fun startups, cool side projects, interesting visual point of view
Background at places like Figma, Notion, Linear, Arc, Stripe, Vercel, Adobe, Anthropic, a creative studio, or a seriously tasteful startup
Comfortable being hands-on: wires to high-fidelity to ready-to-ship, you own the full arc
You have strong opinions and are great at collaborating with engineers
NOT A FIT IF
Your recent work leans heavily enterprise (Salesforce, Asana, Twilio, Monday — sorry!)
You’re a brand-only designer who hasn’t touched product in years
You need a large design org to be productive
