Senior Software Engineer

About the Role

This is a senior engineering role at a fast-growing healthtech AI startup building voice agents that serve as the first point of contact for medical practices — handling appointment scheduling, patient triage, and more. You'll work closely with the founding team, own meaningful parts of the product, and help scale a platform already serving hundreds of thousands of patients across a broad network of clinics.

What You'll Do

• Build features and products from the ground up alongside a small, high-caliber engineering team.

• Operate with a high degree of autonomy to solve complex problems in creative ways.

• Contribute actively to design and architecture discussions, bringing fresh ideas to the table.

• Engage directly with healthcare professionals to understand and address real-world clinical workflows.

• Ship rapidly in an agile environment while maintaining HIPAA compliance and strong security standards.

• Develop scalable backend systems that integrate with AI/ML services and voice infrastructure.

What We're Looking For

• 4–8 years of professional software engineering experience delivering production systems.

• Strong Python proficiency; experience with backend frameworks such as Flask, Django, or FastAPI.

• Full-stack capability with a backend focus and comfort touching React or React Native on the frontend.

• Experience with cloud platforms (GCP preferred), container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes), and PostgreSQL.

• Familiarity with message queue systems such as Celery, Redis, or RabbitMQ.

• Experience building or working with generative AI agents and audio/voice technology architectures.

• Prior startup experience and a demonstrated "0→1" product-building mindset.

• Experience at a strong tech company or well-regarded growth-stage startup is a plus.

• Familiarity with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems is a plus.

• Fluent English communication skills.

• Eagerness to learn and a genuine interest in AI and healthcare technology.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $190,000 – $220,000 USD annually. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Location

Hybrid — based in San Francisco, CA. In-person presence in the SF office is expected five days per week.
