Job Description
The Sr. Product Manager, Visa Accept SDK, is responsible for defining and executing the technical product strategy for Visa’s merchant acceptance SDKs, APIs, and developer platforms. This role drives the end-to-end product lifecycle, from technical requirements definition and solution architecture through implementation, commercialization, and global deployment. The position requires deep collaboration with Engineering, Architecture, Security, Solutioning, Developer Experience, and Regional Product teams to deliver scalable, secure, and developer-friendly acceptance capabilities.
The ideal candidate combines strong product management expertise with a solid understanding of payment technology, APIs, SDK development, mobile and web integration patterns, tokenization, authentication, merchant onboarding, and transaction processing. This individual will identify new product opportunities, define platform capabilities, establish technical roadmaps, and ensure solutions meet the needs of developers, partners, fintech's, merchants, acquirers, and wallet providers.
All roles require digital fluency, including the ability to leverage emerging technologies such as Generative AI tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT) to accelerate product development, technical documentation, developer enablement, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and execute the technical product strategy and roadmap for Visa Accept SDKs, APIs, and developer platform services.
- Own the end-to-end product lifecycle, including requirements gathering, technical design reviews, development prioritization, testing, launch readiness, and post-launch optimization.
- Partner closely with Engineering and Architecture teams to design scalable, secure, and resilient SDK frameworks supporting merchant acceptance use cases across multiple channels and markets.
- Translate business, technical, and regulatory requirements into detailed product specifications, API requirements, SDK capabilities, and developer experience enhancements.
- Drive platform capabilities supporting merchant onboarding, credential management, tokenization, authentication, risk controls, settlement, reporting, and transaction processing.
- Establish and maintain SDK architecture standards, versioning strategies, backward compatibility requirements, and release management processes.
- Collaborate with solution architects, implementation teams, and external partners to support integrations with acquirers, payment facilitators, processors, ISVs, fintech's, wallets, and merchant platforms.
- Define API contracts, developer workflows, reference architectures, and integration patterns to simplify implementation and accelerate adoption.
- Use data, telemetry, developer feedback, and operational metrics to prioritize enhancements and improve SDK performance, reliability, and adoption.
- Partner with Security, Compliance, and Risk teams to ensure platform adherence to Visa, regulatory, privacy, and industry standards.
- Develop technical business cases and investment proposals for new platform capabilities, balancing customer needs, engineering complexity, and commercial objectives.
- Create and maintain developer-facing assets including technical documentation, implementation guides, sample applications, SDK release notes, and developer enablement materials.
- Monitor emerging technologies, payment industry trends, AI-driven development practices, and competitor platforms to identify opportunities for innovation and platform differentiation.
