About Mariana Minerals

Mariana Minerals is a software-first, vertically integrated minerals company on a mission to supply the critical minerals powering modern energy, AI, and defense technologies. We’re reimagining the minerals supply chain by combining deep industry expertise with advanced software, automation, and data-driven decision-making.

Sr. Logistics Specialist

The Role

Mariana Minerals seeks a hands-on, detail-oriented Sr. Logistics Specialist to coordinate the movement of heavy industrial equipment for our capital projects. This role is responsible for managing shipments end-to-end—across air, ocean, rail, and linehaul—both domestically and internationally. Your work will directly impact project schedules by ensuring our equipment arrives on time and in optimal condition.

What You’ll Do

Coordinate Equipment Shipments

  • Plan and manage international and domestic shipments of heavy and capital equipment via air, ocean, and linehaul (over-the-road)

  • Work closely with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and carriers to guarantee on-time, damage-free delivery to project sites

  • Track shipments end-to-end, proactively resolving delays and routing issues

  • Oversee rigging, special permitting, and specialized transport for oversized/out-of-gauge equipment

Manage Customs & Compliance

  • Prepare and review shipping documentation, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, and certificates of origin

  • Collaborate with customs brokers on import/export compliance, HTS classification, and duty/tax estimates

  • Ensure compliance with international shipping regulations and Incoterms

  • Support customs bond renewal and maintain related compliance processes

Drive Cost & Vendor Performance

  • Source and negotiate rates with carriers, freight forwarders, and logistics providers

  • Track freight spend, identify cost-saving opportunities, and benchmark carrier performance

  • Build and maintain a vetted network of carriers across all shipment modes

Build Better Systems

  • Update and maintain shipment data in the transportation management system (TMS)

  • Assist in designing scalable logistics processes and implementing documentation standards as Mariana grows

  • Improve shipment visibility and reduce cycle times across the logistics lifecycle

What You’ll Bring

  • 5–7+ years of logistics or freight coordination experience, ideally with heavy industrial equipment, capital equipment, or project cargo

  • Demonstrated experience with air, ocean, and linehaul**(domestic trucking)** shipping modes

  • Proven international and domestic shipping background, including customs documentation and knowledge of Incoterms

  • Experience with oversize/overweight permitting and rigging coordination is preferred

  • Familiarity with TMS and ERP systems, and strong organizational/documentation skills
