About the Role
We're an early-stage AI expert marketplace startup growing fast, and we're looking for a Strategic Projects Lead to join our team on the ground floor. In this role, you'll own high-value expert delivery projects end-to-end for leading AI research companies — acting as a scrappy, client-facing operator who thrives in ambiguity and is eager to grow with a rapidly scaling platform. This is a rare opportunity to have outsized impact and responsibility from day one.
What You'll Do
Manage 3–4 expert delivery projects simultaneously across human data and market research verticals
Own all client communication — delivering proactive updates, pushing back on screening criteria where needed, and serving as a strategic thought partner to clients
Recruit and reactivate experts from a large internal panel to fulfill project needs
Diagnose project bottlenecks (e.g., drop-off rates, feasibility issues) and collaborate with the engineering team to build product-level solutions
Grow your accounts over time by consistently delivering strong fulfillment outcomes and cultivating trusted client relationships
Identify process improvements and contribute to operational and product thinking beyond day-to-day task execution
What We're Looking For
Required:
0–2 years of experience in project delivery, operations, or consulting — ideally at a Series A–D startup, or a strong fresh graduate from a top-50 U.S. university
Demonstrated end-to-end project ownership: recruiting contributors, communicating with clients, and seeing projects through to completion
Proven experience communicating directly with enterprise-level stakeholders and clients
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills — you're confident, clear, and can hold your ground in client negotiations
High-stamina, hands-on operator who is comfortable with ambiguity and end-to-end ownership
Proactive problem-solver with a product and process improvement mindset
Must be based in or willing to relocate to San Francisco (role is on-site, 5 days/week with occasional flexibility for a 6th day)
Nice to Have:
Background at a marketplace, staffing, or talent platform company
Experience at a high-growth, early-stage startup with a fast-paced, high-intensity culture
Bachelor's degree from a top-50 U.S. university (required for candidates without relevant work experience; flexible with 1–2 years of startup experience)
Please note: Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $120,000 – $160,000 per year, depending on experience
Early-stage equity opportunity
High-growth environment with significant career development potential
Location
This role is on-site, 5 days per week in San Francisco, CA. Candidates must be based in San Francisco or willing to relocate prior to starting.
