About The Ride Platform

The Ride Platform, Inc. is the parent company of Outdoorsy, Ride, Wheelbase, and Roamly. We are named for the single transaction where an operator meets a renter. We build end-to-end for the Operator Economy: the marketplaces to book (Outdoorsy, Ride), the enterprise SaaS to manage (Wheelbase), and the insurtech (Roamly) to protect the assets people turn into businesses. We enable millions of people to explore the world while helping independent operators build generational wealth. Our mission is to build the essential infrastructure for the mobility economy.

About the Role

Outdoorsy is seeking an analytical, scrappy, and growth-obsessed Senior Product Manager to own and optimize our core RV rental marketplace. As one of the owners of our largest marketplace, your North Star metric will be Departed Revenue.

Unlike some product roles focused on building net-new platforms from scratch, this role is intensely focused on optimization, high-velocity experimentation, and incremental improvements. You will deep-dive into two-sided marketplace dynamics, eliminate friction in the funnel, improve liquidity, and fine-tune unit economics.

This is a "builder-operator" role. You will combine strategic ownership with a hands-on technical approach—leveraging modern AI development tools like Claude Design and Claude Code to rapidly prototype, iterate, test, and deploy changes directly when needed.

Key Responsibilities & Deliverables

1. Core Marketplace Strategy & Execution

  • North Star Ownership: Drive continuous incremental improvements to directly increase overall Departed Revenue.
  • Marketplace Liquidity & Dynamics: Balance host supply and guest demand through targeted product and lifecycle improvements.
  • Funnel & Conversion Optimization: Relentlessly analyze user journeys to remove friction for both guests (renters) and hosts.
  • Rapid Iteration & AI-Assisted Dev: Act self-sufficiently by using AI tools like Claude Design to prototype UI/UX changes and Claude Code to push frontend/lifecycle code updates when appropriate to move fast.
  • Build and Maintain an Experimentation Roadmap: Prioritize the highest impact work for the marketplaces and participate in our controlled experiments program.

2. Scope & Area of Ownership

You will be directly responsible for diagnosing, optimizing, and scaling core marketplace operations across four primary drivers:

  • Funnel & Conversion Optimization: Streamline guest and host booking journeys, minimizing drop-off and post-booking friction across our supply formats.
  • Marketplace Health & Supply Dynamics: Balance supply-to-demand ratios across geographies, vehicle tiers, and booking models to optimize yield and fill rates.
  • Revenue Integrity & Economics: Drive booking value through pricing, add-ons, and promo safeguard policies while protecting margin integrity.
  • Trust, Risk & Platform Expansion: Work alongside risk and cross-functional partners to optimize marketplace policies, manage loss ratios, and deepen insurance/fintech integrations.
Who You Are (Candidate Profile)
  • Experience: 6+ years in Product Management, with at least 2–3 years in a leadership role overseeing a two-sided peer-to-peer (P2P) marketplace.
  • Optimization-First Mindset: A proven track record of driving significant revenue growth through experimentation, growth loops, and micro-optimizations rather than just shipping net-new feature suites.
  • Deep Analytical Rigor: Exceptional ability to break down complex metrics into actionable sub-components (e.g., analyzing seal rate subcategories or CVR channel normalization).
  • Technical & AI-Native Scrappiness: Comfortable using modern AI tooling (Claude Design, Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub, etc.) to prototype ideas, mock up designs, and directly submit PRs or code changes to accelerate team velocity.
  • Lifecycle & Funnel Expertise: Strong understanding of triggering, lifecycle messaging, and behavioral nudges that influence both buyer and seller actions.
  • Risk & Economics Awareness: Experience working with marketplace risk, loss ratios, insurance attach rates, or algorithmic pricing model impacts.
What We Offer
  • Competitive Compensation: Base salary range of $175,000 - $205,000 DOE.
  • Growth Opportunity: Join a company in its early stages and help build its success from the ground up.
  • Equity: Opportunity to earn equity compensation.
  • Comprehensive Benefits: 100% company-paid medical premiums for employees, 401(k) match, and Flexible PTO.
  • Vibrant Culture: Work at our new SOMA office space with catered lunches, happy hours, and team-building events.
  • Work-Life Balance: We offer marketplace discounts and maintain a culture that values the balance between work and adventure.
