Status: Part-time, 9am-1pm Monday – Friday

SAN FRANCISCO COMMUNITY BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SERVICES
YOUR ROLE:Â Under the supervision of the Vocational Rehabilitation Coordinator, the Program Assistant provides overall programmatic support to the Employee Development Program at Hire-Ability which includes production work and quality control in our warehouse.
Essential Job Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Provide support to participants when performing production on a daily basis; communicate with Vocational Rehabilitation Coordinator regarding client behavior and production
- Provides simple job modifications to enable independent functioning on job or in training
- Ability to learn agency function and production procedures
- Assist in performing de-escalation techniques for client behavior when necessary.
- Provide quality control of program clients' work on an hourly basis
- Assist with planning and coordinating production programming, including scheduling of specific pieces to be produced for Piper, Designing a Difference and/or other vendor projects
- Assist with planning and coordination of events, including weekly workshops toward job building and retention
- Ability to establish and maintain rapport with clients
- Ability to elicit and disseminate information
- Research community resources towards obtaining employment
- Collaborate with VRC, Peer Intern, and program participants to determine necessary training for participants
- Guide & assist participants with developing workplace skills (e.g. effective communication with coworkers, navigation of the work environment); communicate participant accommodation needs to VRC
- Participate in staff meetings, in-service training and other staff development activities.
- Proactively identify tasks to effect optimal program operations.Â
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of direct, personal lived experience with the community behavioral health system, preferably in San Francisco.Â
- HS diploma; AA degree (or higher) from an accredited institution, highly preferred.
- Excellent verbal, written communications; ability to interact with culturally diverse participants, staff, including those with mental health/behavioral challenges.Â
- Knowledge of SF community resources for health, mental health, substance abuse, Social Security, legal, benefits counseling, and other services, strongly preferred
