The Federal Work Study, Publications Staff Reporter position assists the Newspaper Editor. In this role the Federal Work Study has the exciting opportunity to attend events hosted by Academy of Art University and will have a chance to meet faculty, students, and visitors to Academy of Art University covering stories for the University. Â Â Â
Responsibilities:
- Work on assigned articles for Art U News (research, contact and interview sources, write up, and fact check articles to submit for review to Editor)
- Attend and cover Academy of Art University events for Art U News. Events may take place during the evenings and occasionally on weekends
- Turnaround a minimum of one (1) article for Art U News on a weekly basis
Qualifications:
- Excellent time management skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
- Journalism experience preferred
Location: 79 New Montgomery
Reports to:Â Kirsten Coachman, Newspaper Editor
Pay Rate:Â $19.18 per hour

Work Schedule: Up to 15 hours/week*
Federal Work Study schedules can work up to 20 hours per week*

Length of Employment: The student's starting term at the Academy of Art University through graduation.
