Overview

  • Under the supervision of the Nuclear Medicine Physician, prepares, calibrates, logs, and administers radioactive isotopes to patients undergoing a variety of nuclear medicine procedures. Operates Gamma Camera imaging equipment, computers, and other isotope sensitive equipment to obtain a visual representation or measurement or isotope concentrations in specific body areas/organs.
  • This position requires providing care/service to a critically ill through rehabilitating pediatric through geriatric patient population in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individual served.
  • This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of San Gabriel Valley Medical Center. It is expected that the employee will demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values. The employee shall support San Gabriel Valley Medical Center鈥檚 strategic plan and the goals and direction of the Performance Improvement Plan (PIP).

Responsibilities

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Obtains necessary training prior to initial equipment use.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Assures equipment is in operating order prior to use.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Uses the following equipment in accordance with manufacturer鈥檚 operating instructions. Including, but not limited to:

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Gamma Cameras

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Isotopes calibrators

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Well counter

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Radiation survey meters

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Nuclear computer system

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Portable lead storage modules

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 EKG monitors

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Coronary defibrillators

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Patient safety measures.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Preparation of radioactive isotopes.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Administration of radioactive isotopes.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Monitoring, calibration, and wipe tests.

Qualifications

High school graduate or equivalent.聽 Associates degree preferred.

Graduate of an accredited School of Nuclear Medicine Technology

Prior experience preferred

Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred

Licenses/Certifications:聽 Current NMTCB Certification

Current BCLS-C Card
