We offer an academically focused K - 5 Summer Camp; the Summer Institute for Middle and High School-aged students, and our English Language Institute for international students. Position Summary

Provide a positive environment where campers can learn and develop lifelong skills. Plan, lead, and supervise activities that align with camp goals and support individual camper growth. Group leaders are responsible for planning, teaching, and overseeing their group's activities while ensuring campers' physical and emotional safety. Additionally, they work with and mentor under-18 staff, ensuring effective supervision and a safe, enriching experience for all.


 

Qualifications


Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age and have completed one year of college.
  • Must hold current certifications in First Aid and CPR. (Training will be provided for certification.)
  • Must have prior experience working with children.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with staff to develop and conduct enriching, age-appropriate activities that boost camper self-esteem and success, ensuring they meet camp goals.
  • Set a positive example through punctuality, dress, language, and behavior.
  • Maintain and safely store equipment, and complete weekly activity planning sheets, subject to Program Director approval.
  • Actively participate in staff meetings, evening programs, and camp activities.
  • Mentor junior staff (under 18 years old), assist in camp setup and breakdown and ensure safe camp operations for all participants.

Other Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise campers throughout the day.
  • Supervise on field trips.

Knowledge, Skill & Ability Requirements

  • Communicate and work effectively with diverse age and skill groups, providing clear instruction and safety training.
  • Monitor camper behavior, manage safety, and respond to environmental hazards.
  • Handle emergencies, including administering first aid.

Working Conditions

  • Extended periods of standing or walking may be required.
  • Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Must lift equipment/supplies weighing up to 20 pounds.
  • Ability to bend and reach to interact with children.
  • No hazardous or unpleasant conditions. 
  • Strong cognitive and communication skills to supervise and manage students during play.
