Description

Valley Services is a family-owned residential and construction solutions provider conveniently located in the heart of downtown San Jose. It consists of two divisions: the transfer station and rentals. As a Sanitation Service Driver, you will be responsible for safely operating a company truck to drive to various locations while maintaining clean service on portable toilets, sinks, and holding tanks. The driver will also be responsible for the transfer and dumping of daily loads.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily pre- and post-operation inspections of the vehicle in accordance with Company policy to ensure tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, gauges, and controls are in proper working order.
  • Safely load, unload, stock the truck with supplies, and secure load for safe transport.
  • Safely operate her/his heavy truck along the designated route to the customer site; read the route sheet, follow the map, and service each customer as identified on the route sheet or as assigned by the dispatcher or supervisor.
  • Provide excellent customer service when interacting with customers on-site
  • Load and unload one to two toilets, sinks, or holding tanks on the rear tailgate
  • Maintain Clean truck, stocked supplies on the truck and fill tanks, and transfer waste at the end of each day
  • Service rentals with the highest quality of service
  • Provide routing feedback to the Operations Manager/Supervisor
  • Understand and adhere to all required safety policies and procedures in compliance with Company safety standards and all State and Federal regulations at all times while operating your vehicle
  • Promptly report any issues or incidents to the dispatcher
  • Provide professional, prompt, friendly customer service
  • Maintain and submit DOT logbooks, daily route/productive sheet, and vehicle condition report (post-trip inspection sheet)

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Must have either Commercial Class C / Class B / Class A with Tanker Endorsements, No air-brake restrictions
  • Must have a valid DOT Medical Card/Certificate
  • Minimum 1-2 years of driving experience
  • Must pass drug screening and physical
  • Clean driving record
  • Must be able to maneuver trucks into and out of minimum clearance spaces, using mirrors to back distances up to approximately 120 feet.
  • Strong work ethic
  • No prior portable toilet service experience is required

Physical Requirements (but not limited to):

  • Walking, Bending, Climbing, Crouching, Driving, Sitting, Twisting, Reaching, Pushing/pulling
  • Gripping/ grasping controls
  • Visually inspecting around and under the truck and its components
  • Able to lift at least seventy-five (75) pounds as needed daily
  • Stamina and flexibility to maintain a steady work pace
  • Able to effectively communicate with dispatch/supervisors
