The CookĀ position at Zion Mountain Ranch is an entry-level position responsible for basic food preparation, cooking, and kitchen support. This position is ideal for individuals who are new to the culinary fieldĀ and are eager to develop their skills. This position willĀ assistĀ in meal preparation and kitchen cleanliness while adhering to food safety standards.Ā This position would work in either and/or both the Cordwood Restaurant or The Get Outpost Cafe. (Seasonal working dates: March 15th- November 1st)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Ā
AssistĀ in the preparation and cooking of basic food items under the direction of the Cooks 2, Sous Chef, or Kitchen Manager.Ā
Follow established recipes and portion guidelines for all menu items.Ā
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of workstations, equipment, and food storage areas.Ā
AssistĀ in basic kitchen tasks such as chopping, peeling, and preparing ingredients.Ā
Follow proper food handling and storage procedures in compliance withĀ ServSafeĀ standards.Ā
AssistĀ with dishwashing, kitchen cleanup, and trash removal as needed.Ā
AssistĀ inĀ maintainingĀ inventory levels of kitchen supplies and ingredients.Ā
Duties if/when working in the Cafe:
Deliver excellent guest service in a fast-paced cafĆ© setting,Ā anticipatingĀ customer needs, and providing prompt and friendly service.Ā
ActivelyĀ engage withĀ guests to answer questions about menu items andĀ assistĀ with special requests.Ā
AssistĀ with the preparation and cooking of meals, ensuring quality and consistency in all dishes.Ā
Prepare ingredients, assemble dishes, and ensure food safety and sanitation standards are met.Ā
Prepare handmade pizzas and operate the pizza oven according to menu specifications, ensuring proper cooking techniques andĀ portionĀ control.
Accurately handle cash transactions, process payments, and balance the cash drawer at the beginning and end of shifts.Ā
Follow company policies and procedures for cash handling, including safeguarding against errors and theft.Ā
Ensure the café remainsĀ clean and organized throughout the day, including dining areas, kitchen spaces, and prep stations.Ā
Adhere to health and safety regulations, including proper food handling, sanitation, and personal hygiene practices.Ā
Collaborate with co-workers toĀ maintainĀ a positive, efficient, and team-oriented work environment.Ā
