As a part of Calibration and System Test (CaST), a foundational group within Android XR, you will contribute to providing calibration algorithms and platforms that bridge XR hardware with seamless user experiences.

In the "Glasses + AI" era, the team focuses on three core missions: Platform, which involves delivering a unified Calibration Test Suite (CalTS) empowering OEMs to ship XR devices with confidence, User Experience, which means creating intelligent online calibration services that adapt in real-time to hardware, users, and environments, and
Innovation which involves pioneering AI-driven, self-learning calibration systems using frontier models.

In this role, you will develop advanced factory and dynamic online calibration algorithms, build automated hardware and software platforms, and create application-driven system tests to verify end-to-end device behavior.The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as well as our first-party devices and services that combine the best of Google AI, software, and hardware. Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world.Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $174000 - $253000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + bonus + equity + benefits

Responsibilities:

  • Write and test product or system development code.
  • Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
  • Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
  • Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
  • Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
