Summary
Working out of TAEC’s San Jose Storage Design Center, the selected applicant will work as a member of an R&D team, on Hard Disk Drive related projects. The work environment is project and team based and involves developing leading edge storage technologies and products.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Design, implement, debug, and evaluate various aspects of HDD-related projects.
- Take ownership of large, moderately complex assignments.
- Collaborate effectively with members within and outside the core project team.
- Develop high-quality embedded firmware, participate in peer design reviews, and provide supporting design and evaluation documentation.
- Analyze HDD performance across various workloads.
- Communicate effectively and work closely with remote development teams.
- 5+ years of directly applicable engineering experience.
- Strong fundamentals in relevant HDD technologies.
- Proficiency in C/C++ and assembly language on ARM Cortex platforms.
- Experience with embedded firmware development.
- Experience analyzing and improving HDD performance.
- Familiarity with SATA protocols.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable working in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
- Bachelor’s in Engineering required; PhD preferred.
