D&D HOME REMODELING is a family-owned design-build residential remodeling company focused on transforming homes through thoughtful design and quality execution. Our work spans kitchens, bathrooms, whole-home renovations, additions, and ADUs, with an emphasis on creating spaces that are functional, beautiful, and tailored to each homeowner's goals.
In this role, you will help shape the design experience from early client conversations through permitting and project coordination, bringing creativity, technical accuracy, and a strong understanding of residential remodeling to every stage of the process.
Responsibilities- Meet with homeowners to understand needs, style, budget, and project goals.
- Visit job sites to take measurements and document existing conditions.
- Develop space plans, floor plans, elevations, and detailed construction drawings.
- Prepare complete permit plan sets for submission to local cities and building departments.
- Coordinate plan corrections and respond to comments from city departments.
- Create professional 3D models and realistic interior and exterior renderings.
- Accompany clients to showrooms and help select cabinets, countertops, flooring, tile, fixtures, finishes, and other materials.
- Prepare design presentations, mood boards, and material-selection packages.
- Coordinate with project managers, estimators, engineers, vendors, and field crews.
- Ensure designs are attractive, buildable, code-conscious, and aligned with the approved budget.
- Maintain accurate project files and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- 3+ years of experience in architectural or residential design.
- Experience with residential remodeling or new residential construction, including additions, ADUs, kitchens, and bathrooms.
- Experience preparing permit and construction drawings.
- Ability to read and understand architectural and structural plans.
- Strong 3D modeling and rendering skills, with proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Chief Architect, or similar design software.
- Knowledge of residential materials, finishes, construction methods, and Bay Area city permitting for residential projects.
- Experience coordinating with engineers, estimators, and field crews, and presenting designs to homeowners.
- Experience guiding showroom material selections.
- Eligible to work in the United States.
