Position Overview

The Automotive HR & Payroll Administrator will manage payroll and support human resources operations for a high-volume, multi-department automotive dealership.

This position requires a strong understanding of dealership payroll structures, commission calculations, bonuses, employee compensation plans, HR compliance, and employee relations.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, trustworthy, confidential, and comfortable working independently while partnering closely with dealership management and leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process accurate and timely bi-weekly payroll for a high-volume dealership
  • Manage dealership commission payroll, bonuses, incentives, and variable compensation
  • Review payroll for accuracy and resolve discrepancies
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation
  • Manage employee onboarding and offboarding processes
  • Support HR policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
  • Assist with employee relations and HR-related questions
  • Administer employee benefits including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k)
  • Prepare payroll reports, audits, and internal HR documentation
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee and payroll information
  • Partner with department managers and dealership leadership
  • Stay current on applicable payroll regulations and employment requirements
  • Support additional HR and administrative functions as needed

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of HR and payroll experience within an automotive dealership REQUIRED
  • Strong understanding of automotive dealership payroll and compensation structures
  • Experience processing commission-based payroll strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of dealership bonuses, incentives, and variable compensation
  • Experience with ADP, CDK, Paycom, or similar payroll/HR platforms preferred
  • Understanding of HR compliance, labor laws, and payroll regulations
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced dealership environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of confidentiality and professionalism
  • Ability to work effectively with dealership managers and leadership
