Director of Product, Web Protections

About the role:
Own the Web Protections Portfolio:  

• Set the vision, strategy, roadmap, and operating priorities for McAfee’s Web Protections product portfolio, including Web Advisor and related browser-based protection experiences.  

Create a Better-Together Companion Experience:  

• Define how the McAfee app and browser extensions work together across state, signals, data, and UX patterns to create a frictionless, unified customer journey.  

Translate Web Threats into Trusted UX:  

• Partner with Design, Content, Research, and Engineering to convert complex and invisible web risks into calm, clear, non-intrusive experiences that help consumers understand what is happening and what to do next.  

Lead Browser and Platform Strategy:  

• Navigate the evolving browser ecosystem—including Chromium, WebExtensions APIs, Safari and Firefox architectures, web protocols, content filtering mechanics, and privacy policy changes—to guide durable product strategy.  

Protect Users from Emerging AI and Agentic Risks:  

• Anticipate how consumers will use generative AI and autonomous agents through the browser, then shape protections against emerging risks such as prompt injection, malicious autonomous agents, data scraping, automated scams, and other AI-driven web threats.  

Turn R&D into Consumer-Ready Products:  

• Partner deeply with Advanced R&D, threat research, data science, and engineering teams to translate technical security research and behavioral model data into a prioritized roadmap that delivers customer value.  

Evaluate Strategic Partnerships:  

• Identify, evaluate, and help execute technology partnerships and integrations with browser vendors, platform operators, data providers, or protection ecosystem partners that extend McAfee’s reach and differentiation.  

Communicate Strategy with Executive Clarity:  

• Present ecosystem strategies, technical frameworks, trade-offs, product roadmaps, and measurable business/customer outcomes to executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders. 

About you:

• 10+ years of product management experience, including leadership responsibility for consumer technology, cybersecurity, SaaS, browser-based products, or related technology platforms. 

• Deep understanding of web technologies, browser ecosystems, extension platforms, web protocols, privacy frameworks, and online security trends. 

• Proven success defining product vision, strategy, roadmaps, and execution for large-scale products that deliver measurable customer and business outcomes. 

• Experience translating complex technical capabilities, security risks, and research innovations into intuitive, customer-centric product experiences. 

• Demonstrated ability to partner effectively across Engineering, Design, Research, Data Science, Threat Research, and other cross-functional teams in a highly matrixed environment. 

• Proven people leader with experience building, developing, and inspiring high-performing product teams, establishing a culture of accountability, innovation, and results. 

• Demonstrated success launching and scaling innovative 0-to-1 products or platform capabilities that delivered significant, measurable business impact, customer value, and market differentiation. 

• Strong understanding of AI technologies and practical experience leveraging AI tools to accelerate product development, improve decision-making, increase team effectiveness, and drive productivity across the product lifecycle. 

• Highly data-fluent leader who is comfortable operating at both the strategic and detailed levels, using analytics, customer insights, experimentation, and business metrics to make informed decisions and drive specific, measurable outcomes.

Pay Range

The anticipated compensation for this position is USD $141,680.00/Yr. - USD $232,760.00/Yr. depending on experience and qualifications.
