Reporting to the Global EHS Manager, the Environmental, Health and Safety Technician works within a facility management organization that provides a variety of O&M services that include R&D Labs, critical data environments and commercial office space. InspectĀ siteĀ for batteries. Pickup batteries from all locations. Package and prepare batteries per shipping regulations. CoordinateĀ batteriesĀ shipment, schedule shipments, take photographs of shipments and signĀ onĀ behalf ofĀ the client. Submit documentation toĀ onsiteĀ clientĀ EHS Engineer.Ā
InspectĀ siteĀ for electronic waste. Pickup electronic waste from all AMD locations and deliver to the central e-waste collection area. Coordinate shipments of electronic waste. Submit documentation toĀ onsiteĀ clientĀ EHS Engineer.Ā
InspectĀ siteĀ for hazardous waste.Ā Pick upĀ hazardous waste from all locations. Package and prepare hazardous waste per hazardous waste regulations. Coordinate shipments of hazardous waste. Submit documentation toĀ onsiteĀ clientĀ EHS Engineer.Ā
PerformĀ chemical inventories to support provincial chemical reporting requirements.Ā
Perform ventilation surveys and verify the lab hoodĀ faceĀ velocities.Ā
Support labs with empty box management (shipping and identification of heavy combustible storage locations.)Ā Support labs for waste disposal/reclaim by identification and shipping of waste andĀ reclaim.Ā
Inspect labs for personal/residential equipment used for industrial use. (i.eĀ small clips on cooling fans to cool test equipment.)Ā
SubmitĀ requestĀ to CW staff to manage issues found inside the lab.Ā
Perform monthly EHS inspections such as indoor inspection, site walk through (inside and outside site), inspect the UPS room weekly, monthly fire extinguisher inspection, eye wash station/shower,Ā first aid kit and AED inspection.Ā
Inspect all soldering stations weekly to ensure engineers are not using lead solder. Inspect ventilation filters and report results to EHSĀ engineerĀ (i.eĀ PPEĀ violations, photos, etc.)Ā
Perform noise surveysĀ and support audiometric testing events.Ā
Act as a member of the emergency response team (ERT) and crisis management team (CMT). Support volunteer ERTs and related response capabilities to meet EHS Standards and site needs at Facilities.Ā
Support annual evacuation drills and other site ERT exercises as required by EHS Standards, programs and regulatory requirements andĀ maintainĀ response capabilities andĀ proficiency.Ā
Update and support all evacuation planning, map production, assembly area marking, etc.Ā
Review, approve and audit hot work activities.Ā
Review, approve and audit job safety analysis documentation for certain tasks.Ā
Submit energy metrics inĀ onlineĀ tool. This includes electricity, water, waste, etc.Ā
Perform Air Permit equipment inventory.Ā
IdentifyĀ workspace ergonomic concerns.Ā
Attend and support EHS training programs based on tasks performed.Ā
Perform refrigerant inventory and workĀ withĀ facilitiesĀ team toĀ identifyĀ all HVAC equipment with leaks.Ā
Attend compliance audits and work to correct any alleged violationsĀ identified.Ā
Distribute and Safekeep COVID PPE such asĀ maskĀ and gloves.Ā
Comply withĀ company policies and safety requirements/programs.Ā
REQUIREMENTS:Ā
High School graduate, GED, or equivalent experience.Ā
Minimum of 2Ā yearsĀ EHS experience.Ā
MustĀ haveĀ flexibilityĀ to work overtime and all assigned shifts, including weekends and holidays, and serve on an on-call basis, as may be dictated by the needs of the business.Ā
Must be able to use personal computers/MS Office experienceĀ required.Ā
Able to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, journals, technical, procedures, or governmental regulations.Ā
Ability to effectively communicateĀ withĀ management and client representatives.Ā
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:Ā
MustĀ possessĀ a validĀ driverĀ license.Ā
