We are adding Construction Field Engineers to work on the largest single public infrastructure project ever constructed in Santa Clara County. It will consist of three new stations including two mid tunnel facilities and two portals for the Tunnel Boring Machine. This is a $3B job with an estimated completion date of 2/2029 and will be the 7th largest TBM in the world. Side by side and stacked configuration for the tunnel and stations. It will also include SOE and slurry walls to help with ground stability, adjacent structure support, and groundwater barrier. Â

Kiewit’s Northern California District is one of Kiewit’s leading infrastructure districts specializing in various types of work in the heavy civil, power, transportation, and water resource markets. Although most of our work is regionally based in Northern California, we also pursue various projects across the west coast. Location
Location: This role will be based on-site at the project in Santa Clara, CA. Â
Responsibilities
- Assist in interpretation of drawings and specifications for field crews and craft supervisionÂ
- Perform quantity inspections by taking measurements and determining percentage of completed/installed materials and workÂ
- Assist in the preparation of work plans and work packagesÂ
- Assist in field surveying and work layout support including elevation, control points, and compilation of as-built dataÂ
- Assist in compiling, processing, and confirming daily labor timesheetsÂ
- Assist in the preparation of Job Hazard Analysis (JHA’s)Â
- Participate in jobsite safety reviews, toolbox meetings, mass safety meetings, and safety trainingÂ
- Order and schedule material deliveriesÂ
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate work groups on the jobsiteÂ
- Supervise field operationsÂ

Qualifications
- 2+ years' construction field experience, preferably in Heavy Civil construction (roadway, concrete, asphalt, earthworks, Bridge, Rail, Water or Wastewater)Â
- Work experience in engineering and leading engineersÂ
- Undergraduate degree in civil engineering, construction management, or relatedÂ
- Ability to read, analyze and identify discrepancies on engineering plans, specifications, and contract documentsÂ
- Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environmentÂ
- Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiativeÂ
- Strong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done right the first timeÂ
- Demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrityÂ
- Passion for safety, with the ability to help us ensure that nobody gets hurtÂ
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills Â
- Ability to travel and relocate as neededÂ
- Strong organization, time management, and attention to detailÂ

Base Compensation:Â $85,000 -Â $110,000Â **This position may qualify for a cost-of-living adjustment added to base salary for employees based in select Northern California locations.Â
