Position Summary
The Loan Servicing Specialist is a servicing‑centric lending operations role responsible for the ongoing administration, maintenance, and full lifecycle management of consumer loans. The position supports Lending and Member Services by ensuring post‑funding accuracy, documentation completeness, collateral perfection, lien maintenance and release, payment processing, and timely resolution of member servicing inquiries. In addition, the role provides limited support for pre‑funding and funding activities to ensure a smooth and controlled transition from origination to servicing. This position is designed to enhance operational continuity, reduce single‑point dependency, and deliver consistent, detail‑oriented, and professional service to members, internal partners, dealers, and vendors throughout the life of the loan.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Collateral Perfection & Title Management (Auto / Indirect)Manage vehicle title perfection and lien releases by preparing DMV documentation and coordinating with dealerships, financial institutions, members, and internal departments to ensure timely, compliant title transfers.

Real Estate Loan Documentation & Recording Oversight
Ensure completeness of real estate loan files by tracking receipt of recorded documents, following up with title companies, updating loan systems and imaging, and securely filing original documentation.

Loan Payoffs, Funding & Lien Releases (Auto & Real Estate)
Prepare payoff demand letters and process loan payoffs in accordance with established procedures, ensuring accurate funding, timely lien releases, and proper system updates.
Insurance, Collateral Protection & Monitoring
Ensure all loan collateral remains protected through appropriate insurance coverage, lender‑placed policies, and monitoring services, added or removed as required and in compliance with state and federal regulations.
Indirect Lending & Funding Support
Support indirect lending and funding operations by ensuring loan applications and documentation are complete, coordinating with dealerships to obtain missing information, and establishing memberships as needed.
Payment Processing & Financial Accuracy
Process mailed loan payments with a high degree of accuracy, ensuring timely and effective‑date posting consistent with receipt by Meriwest.

Vendor, GLS, Reconciliations & Reporting
Perform reconciliations for loan‑related vendor services and general ledger accounts (e.g., GAP, MRC, CUNA, SNC), review lending reports, and assist with tracking and reporting monthly loan volume, applications received, and loans funded.
Member Inquiries & Issue Resolution
Research, resolve, and respond to member inquiries related to insurance coverage, payments, escrow accounts, taxes, lien releases, titling, out‑of‑state moves, disputes, loan adjustments, fees, and correspondence.

Specialized Loan Administration (Escrows, UCCs, LOC Maintenance)
Establish, maintain, and close escrow accounts; prepare, monitor, renew, or terminate UCC and fixture filings; close unused open‑end lines of credit as directed; and issue required member notifications.
Cross‑Training, Coverage & Operational Support
Cross‑train across lending functions to maintain servicing proficiency, provide operational coverage, support service level agreements with vendors and internal partners, and perform other related duties as assigned.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
- High School or Equivalent Required.
- Three years to five years of similar or related experience.
- A significant level of trust, credibility and diplomacy is required. In-depth dialogues, conversations and explanations with customers, direct and indirect reports and outside vendors can be of a sensitive and/or highly confidential nature. Communications may involve motivating, influencing, educating and/or advising others on matters of significance.Â
- This position requires 100% on-site presence in San Jose, CA. Due to the nature of the responsibilities, remote work—including hybrid schedules—is not supported. Candidates must be able to reliably commute or relocate to the work location.

Each grade is assigned a salary range which consists of a minimum, midpoint, and maximum rate. The Loan Servicing Specialist position is a Grade 8.Â
- Target Range: $31.61 to $39.52*
*The target range for entry in a new position is between the minimum and midpoint of the range, depending on experience and qualifications
