Hardware Validation Engineer

NXP is seeking our next HW Validation Engineer for silicon validation who will drive and contribute to both pre-silicon and post-silicon validation and production of SerDes and other High-Speed interfaces as part of Aviva’s Automotive grade products. You will be responsible for ensuring functionality, performance, power, reliability, stress and stability and eventually automotive qualification through comprehensive validation processes.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Validation planning – Develop and implement detailed validation test-plan and develop validation methodologies/infrastructure to achieve the coverage

  • Test development – Develop test-cases, test environment and automation scripts using Python. Use various HW and SW tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, traffic generators and analyzers.

  • Collaboration - Work closely with design, DV, Analog and Firmware teams to debug, root-cause and resolve any issues that may arise during validation. In addition, work with Operations to do bench screening, high volume ATE functional screening.

  • Documentation and reporting – Document test-plans, test results, validation coverage reports. Communicate the same to stakeholders through regular reports

  • Automation – Develop various scripts, web-based tools to automate validation and FW QA tests as well as collecting reports and diagnostics data

 

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • B.S./M.S. Electrical/Computer Engineering

  • 10+ years of experience in silicon validation of with high-speed networking SerDes, mixed signal/analog/digital ICs and blocks, knowledge of PCS and PMA networking layers.

  • Hands on experience with debug and characterization of high-speed interfaces like CSI-2, Ethernet.

  • Expertise with script-based test automation (Python) and strong scripting skills in general.

  • Experience in GUI development for HW and FW debug is a plus

The base salary range for this position is as mentioned below per year. We also provide competitive benefits, incentive compensation, and/or equity for certain roles.

Please note that the base salary range (OR hourly rate) is a guideline, and individual total compensation may vary based on a number of factors such as qualifications, skill level, work location, and other business and organizational needs. This base pay range is specific to California and is not applicable to other locations. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range as of the date of this posting is:

$160,500 to $220,700 annually
