Altera Corporation is seeking a highly experienced Sr. Field Sales Manager to lead strategic customer relationships with Tier 1 and major OEM accounts in the Bay Area. This is a high-impact opportunity for a strategic, results-driven sales leader who understands complex semiconductor solutions and can translate customer priorities into long-term business growth. You will manage high-value accounts, build trusted relationships with technical and executive stakeholders, and partner across Altera to deliver tailored solutions that create measurable customer and business value.
What You’ll Do
Manage, retain, and grow strategic relationships with Tier 1 and major OEM customers.
Develop and execute account and sales strategies that meet or exceed revenue targets.
Serve as the primary point of contact for key accounts, developing a deep understanding of their business, technical, and market needs.
Position Altera’s solutions to address complex customer requirements and accelerate design-win opportunities.
Build relationships and influence decisions across engineering, procurement, business leadership, and executive teams.
Collaborate with business solutions, product marketing, engineering, and other cross-functional partners to support account growth.
Monitor market trends, customer roadmaps, and competitor activity to identify opportunities and strengthen account strategy.
Maintain accurate forecasts, reporting, pipeline analysis, and account plans for senior leadership.
Lead complex sales cycles from opportunity development through negotiation, closure, and continued account expansion.

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications
Strong experience in sales account management, field sales, or a related role.
Proven success supporting Tier 1 or major OEM customers through complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles.
Demonstrated ability to consistently meet or exceed sales targets.
Strong negotiation, communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
Ability to influence and collaborate effectively with senior executives and technical decision-makers.
Business and technical acumen, with the ability to understand customer challenges and communicate solution value.
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline, or higher.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience selling highly specialized semiconductor solutions, including FPGAs, ASICs, or related technologies.
An established network within Bay Area customer organizations.
MBA or equivalent business education.
Familiarity with CRM tools, forecasting systems, and sales analytics platforms.
