Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Python/Django Developer to support the development and deployment of secure enterprise applications for federal engagements. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Python development, Django framework, cloud-based application deployment, and secure infrastructure environments.

This role involves building scalable backend systems, collaborating with engineering teams, and supporting applications deployed within highly regulated cloud environments including AWS GovCloud and FedRAMP-compliant infrastructures.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Python and Django.
Build and optimize RESTful APIs and web services for enterprise platforms.
Configure and manage Nginx-based application deployments.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop secure and high-performing applications.
Support deployments within AWS GovCloud and regulated federal cloud environments.
Ensure application compliance with security and federal standards including FedRAMP and IL5 requirements.
Troubleshoot production issues and optimize system performance and reliability.
Participate in code reviews and enforce software engineering best practices.
Work closely with DevOps and infrastructure teams for deployment automation and cloud integration.
Maintain secure coding practices and support cloud security initiatives.

Required Skills

10+ years of software engineering experience
5+ years of hands-on experience with Python development
Strong expertise in Django framework
Experience with Nginx configuration and deployment
Strong understanding of REST APIs and backend system design
Experience with Linux-based environments
Knowledge of cloud deployment and application security best practices
Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization skills

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with AWS GovCloud
Knowledge of FedRAMP and IL5 compliance environments
Exposure to cloud security and federal application standards
Experience supporting government or federal projects
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and containerized deployments
