Job Role and Responsibility: Xilinx, Inc., a subsidiary of AMD, Inc., is hiring Silicon Design Engineer to Research, design, develop, and/or test electronic components and systems for semiconductor and related device manufacturing, employing knowledge of electronic theory. Perform definition, design, verification, and/or documentation for ASIC development. Determine architecture design, logic design, and/or system simulation. Define module interfaces/formats for simulation. Contribute to the development of multidimensional designs involving the layout of complex integrated circuits. Evaluate all aspects of the process flow from high-level designs to synthesis, place and route, and timing and power use. Work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Under limited supervision, exercise judgment within defined company procedures and practices to select methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Utilize knowledge of computers and electronics, including circuit boards, processors, chips, and electronic equipment, as well as knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles. Apply knowledge of engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of various company products.

Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field.

Specific skills required: The following skills are required:

 

Position requires experience in the following:

  • Developing synthesizable RTL (SystemVerilog / Verilog) for complex digital blocks;
  • Implementing control logic, datapaths, state machines, and protocol engines;
  • Ensuring RTL adheres to coding guidelines, clocking/reset strategies, and low-power methodologies;
  • Supporting multi-clock domain designs and CDC-safe implementations;
  • Designing and implementing PCIe/CXL protocol related logic, including LTSSM, TLP/DLLP handling, credit management, error reporting, and compliance with PCIe Base Specification requirements; and
  • System memory management and CPU architecture.

 

Experience may be gained through graduate-level coursework, research, assistantship, or internship experience.
