This position is Remote to work with a US Company; you will require to have Citizenship or a work permit from Costa Rica to apply for this role.

Role summary

You will work directly with customers to understand technical requirements and deliver custom technical solutions throughout the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). This role combines hands-on development using Python, SQL, and RESTful APIs with technical project ownership, testing, code reviews, and customer-facing requirements gathering.

The ideal candidate is comfortable moving between customer conversations and hands-on engineering, translating business and technical needs into clear specifications and reliable, well-tested solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Own custom technical projects from requirements gathering through development, testing, deployment, and delivery.
  • Act as an end-to-end Technical Project Manager for custom technical solutions throughout the full SDLC.
  • Engage directly with customers to understand business and technical requirements.
  • Translate customer requirements into clear, concise, and actionable technical specifications.
  • Develop and maintain integrations using RESTful APIs and HTTP-based services.
  • Work with JSON payloads, including processing API inputs and outputs.
  • Develop Python-based solutions using libraries such as pandas and requests.
  • Write, analyze, and maintain SQL queries and database-related logic.
  • Follow Test-Driven Development (TDD) practices and maintain strong automated test coverage.
  • Develop and maintain unit tests for Python and SQL-based solutions.
  • Conduct peer code reviews to ensure code quality, maintainability, and adherence to development standards.
  • Follow established SDLC processes and software engineering best practices.
  • Ensure solutions make efficient use of system resources and are designed with performance and maintainability in mind.
  • Collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders throughout development and delivery.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues across APIs, Python applications, SQL, and related integrations.
  • Maintain appropriate technical and project documentation throughout the development lifecycle.

Requirements – Must-haves

  • Strong hands-on experience with Python.
  • Experience using Python libraries including pandas and requests.
  • Strong experience working with RESTful APIs/services and HTTP requests.
  • Technical knowledge of JSON, including working with API inputs and outputs.
  • Experience writing and comprehending SQL queries, preferably Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD).
  • Hands-on experience developing and maintaining unit tests.
  • Strong understanding of test coverage and software quality practices.
  • Experience following structured SDLC processes.
  • Experience conducting code reviews and providing technical feedback to other developers.
  • Strong customer-facing experience, including gathering and discussing technical requirements.
  • Ability to translate customer needs into clear technical specifications.
  • Experience owning technical projects through the complete development lifecycle.
  • Strong understanding of application performance and efficient system resource utilization.
  • Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to independently manage technical deliverables while collaborating effectively with customers and engineering teams.

  • Experience with Azure DevOps (ADO).
  • Experience using Azure DevOps Repos or other Git-based source control systems.
  • Experience creating and managing Azure DevOps Pipelines.
  • Experience with CI/CD and automated deployment practices.
