We want an experienced full stack engineer, leaning toward backend, to become part of a motivated and rapidly progressing team. The team is creating a new creativity platform that will influence the future of Creative Cloud and Adobe’s Digital Media business.

AI is transforming how we develop software and the experiences we offer. In this position, you will apply AI-supported engineering methods to speed up development. You will also help convert emerging generative and multimodal AI features into dependable, responsible, production-level experiences for a worldwide user base.

What you’ll do:

  • Join a dedicated team that uses AI-assisted development workflows to build and deliver the Express content ecosystem. This includes design, implementation, production readiness, and system sustainability. You will maintain ownership of correctness, security, and engineering quality.
  • Tackle exciting design and engineering problems to deliver best-in-class services.
  • Design, build, improve and maintain highly performant and scalable platform capabilities that power AI-assisted creation, discovery, refinement, and publishing experiences.
  • Build evaluation and feedback loops that combine automated benchmarks, human review, experimentation, product analytics, and user research to measure quality, relevance, safety, latency, cost, and task success.
  • Collaborate with other engineers on problems of all shapes and sizes, from code to new ideas and methodologies.
  • Collaborate with product managers and designers to bring generative and multimodal AI features into production. Manage the services and coordination—covering evaluation, safeguards, observability, latency, scalability, cost, and fallback behavior—to provide dependable experiences for a worldwide, large-scale audience.
  • Provide recommendations on how to make the products more usable. Use our analytics tools, user research, and in-house community team to gather information and gain insights as to how people use Adobe Express to drive new ideas.
  • Actively share knowledge and mentor other engineers, providing feedback and guidance to help them grow. Improve team standards by enabling others to deliver high-quality results and fostering a collaborative, inclusive environment.

What you need to succeed:

  • B.S. or above degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years proven experience building and maintaining high performance and scalable web services
  • Experience with service development
  • High fluency in data structures, algorithms, data modeling and schema design
  • Profound knowledge of web technologies and cloud services
  • Excellent coding skills in Java/Spring Boot, Kotlin or JavaScript
  • Hands-on experience with AI-supported software development tools, along with the capability to critically assess generated code, tests, designs, and technical recommendations.
  • Track record of designing and developing robust, scalable high impact cloud services
  • Proficient with large scale web application design and development guidelines to achieve modular, maintainable and extensible solutions
  • Ability to design reliable systems around nondeterministic components, including evaluation, validation, monitoring, fallback behavior, and failure recovery.
  • Operational experience running publicly available cloud services and applications, including AWS deployment/management services (CloudFormation, CloudWatch, etc.)
  • Self-motivated problem solver with a can-do demeanor
  • Comfortable both building prototypes from scratch and writing maintainable code inside large existing codebases
  • Shipped software in a commercial environment (start-ups a plus) and can deal with last-minute bug fixes and schedule changes
  • Strong product insight and the ability to transform unclear AI opportunities into testable hypotheses and measurable user outcomes.
  • Awareness of responsible AI considerations, including privacy, security, content safety, bias, provenance, and regional requirements.

Bonus:

  • Familiarity with model gateways, prompt and context management, structured generation, tool calling, retrieval-augmented generation, embeddings, or vector search.
  • Experience developing evaluation harnesses for AI systems, including offline benchmarks, human evaluation, A/B testing, and production quality monitoring.
  • Experience with inference optimization, model routing, caching, rate limiting and AI cost management.
  • Familiarity with agentic or multi-turn AI workflows.
  • Experience with creative tools, digital media, content generation or creator-facing products.
