Altera is seeking an Embedded Product Marketing Manager to define and drive our outward-facing embedded narrative and vision, translating advanced FPGA embedded capabilities into clear, differentiated customer value across the embedded software stack, processor and peripherals, and RTOS/OS ecosystem.
This role goes beyond feature positioning to define how Altera embedded solutions enable customer success, helping organizations build ideal processor and peripheral software solutions. The PMM will shape the market conversation around Arm and RISC-V based embedded capabilities and position Altera as a leader in addressing them.
The ideal candidate will simplify complex embedded software concepts into compelling narratives that resonate with executives, architects, and developers, clearly articulating why embedded processing is a foundational system requirement and why Altera’s SoC-based platforms uniquely enable long-term flexibility.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain Altera’s outward-facing embedded processing narrative and positioning across the embedded software stack, processor and peripherals, and RTOS/OS ecosystem
Lead messaging for core innovations, including Hard Processing Systems (HPS), Nios V RISC-V soft IP processors, and the application stacks and strategies
Build the inward and outward narrative that connects embedded features to business outcomes and maps customer needs to Altera solutions
Develop high-quality, customer-facing assets including solution briefs, whitepapers, blogs, website product pages, sales presentations and executive decks
Equip sales teams with embedded-focused pitch decks, competitive positioning and objection handling, and use-case and vertical-specific messaging
Analyze competitive embedded positioning to develop differentiated messaging highlighting SoC-based capabilities
Identify emerging trends and translate them into actionable marketing strategies
The pay range below is for Bay Area California only. Actual salary may vary based on a number of factors including job location, job-related knowledge, skills, experiences, trainings, etc. We also offer incentive opportunities that reward employees based on individual and company performance.

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications
The candidate must have a BS degree in engineering or related field
5+ years of experience developing embedded software (Linux or bare metal)
3+ years of experience in product marketing, technical marketing, or related role
1+ years of experience in developing embedded processing and peripheral system architectures
Experience in semiconductors, embedded systems, or infrastructure technologies
Demonstrated ability to create external-facing technical content and messaging
Strong understanding of embedded fundamentals, including C / C++ proficiency, Embedded Linux, debugging and validation, and development tools/workflows
Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear customer value

Deliver compelling messaging around Altera's embedded leadership
Enable sales with strong embedded solution positioning and tools
Launch impactful campaigns aligned to advancing Go To Market (GTM) for new HPS solutions
Position Altera as the trusted embedded platform provider
